Range Rover, which was previously known as Jaguar Land Rover, has revealed the Range Rover GT Electric, an all-electric luxury GT crossover, by releasing the exterior and interior images. The carmaker hasn’t confirmed any date for its debut or launch. Reportedly, the global debut may happen by late 2026, and market launch is expected around the first quarter of 2027.
Outside, it has a front closed-off grille for better aerodynamics; a sculpted bonnet to make the front end dynamic; horizontal-shaped LED headlights, including daylight running lights and low and high beams to enhance daytime visibility and give better visibility for nighttime driving; lower active air intakes for cooling of the electric motor and battery pack; and side air curtains to reduce aerodynamic drag.
Other notables on the exterior are flared wheel arches for styling, ten-spoke alloy wheels improving road presence, flush-type handles on both side doors to reduce drag and improve efficiency, A-pillar-mounted outside rear-view mirrors with integrated side indicators to get a clear view of traffic behind and hint to the vehicle running ahead about the next move, a sloping roofline to emphasize its grand touring character, a roof-integrated spoiler to enhance high-speed stability, and slim horizontal-shape taillights to make the vehicle visible from the back.
Inside, it has a two-spoke steering wheel with a few physical buttons and Range Rover lettering. Instead of a traditional digital instrument, it gets a driver display under the steering wheel. The center of the dashboard is equipped with a large, horizontal-shaped touchscreen infotainment system. The centrally mounted screen is all set to support OTA software updates with connected car technology, wireless multi-device connectivity via Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and Bluetooth connectivity.
The infotainment system is also expected to support an AI-based voice assistant, which will do the touch-based things over natural voice commands, such as play songs, show navigation, stream Netflix, etc. For co-passenger and driver comfort with heating and cooling, it has concealed full-width air vents that span the dashboard. The dashboard is built on premium woven textile with integrated hidden speakers for a clean view.
The cabin has a large panoramic sunroof, which is expected to support an electric sunshade to enhance premiumness. The interior image they have revealed shows that the second row has two seats with armrests in the center. Overall, a seating capacity of 4 people is available in a 2-2 layout. Behind the second row, it is set to feature a decent boot space, which will help in carrying luggage.
In the second row, between the seats, there is a small screen that is visible after raising the armrest; it is likely to display the main infotainment. All four seats have separate headrests to enhance seating comfort for each occupant. The image they have released shows that the cabin is quite spacious with very large legroom, headroom, and shoulder room, so even a long journey would be convenient.
Set to be built on an electrified modular architecture. After the launch of the pure-petrol model, they will introduce the model as a hybrid electric vehicle, which supports self-charging. The EV is anticipated to make its debut with three electric motors, one on the front axle and two on the rear axle, featuring an all-wheel-drive drivetrain. They are yet to reveal the battery pack and other details for the model.
Reports suggest that production will start at Halewood, England, United Kingdom, shortly after the unveiling. Following the launch in the European market, this upcoming all-electric GT crossover from Land Rover, it will compete with Audi Q6 e-tron, Maserati Grecale Folgore, Lotus Eletre, Polestar 4, and Porsche Macan Electric.
