Mahindra Vision S Patented

The design of the Mahindra Vision S, a concept sub-4-metre SUV which the brand showcased on August 15, 2025, has been recently patented in India, as per reports. At that event, the brand showcased only this one, three others too, which are Vision X, Vision T and Vision SXT. Notably, these three models already have been patented, and now even for the remaining one, the patent has been filed.

By patenting the Mahindra Vision S concept SUV design, the brand has moved its first step toward the launch of its production model. The patent image leaked online shows the design similar to the one showcased at the Freedom_NU event. Notably, the model name is still pending; Mahindra will reveal it near the launch. Not only the nameplate, but even all specifications and features are pending.

How’s its design?

The patent images of Mahindra Vision S that surfaced online have revealed the same design that we get to see with the showcase of the concept at the event. The concept has a rectangular grille with Mahindra’s Twin Peaks for the branding. Other details that we can clearly see on the front end are the inverted L-shaped LED and three vertical LED elements on the sides of the logo.

Below, on the chunky bumper, it features pixel-style fog lamps that help with enhanced visibility during the bad weather conditions. This lightning signature can also be seen on the patented images. A skid plate between the fog lamps on the bumper also enhances the upfront view. The roof-mounted auxiliary lights and tree limb risers are also among the details that we can clearly see.

Mahindra Vision S sideview Patented

The sides feature the tall and slab-sided profile with the flat roofline and short rear overhang. Other highlights from the in-profile view are squared-off wheel arches with thick black cladding. Flush-type door handles, side storage boxes, and roof rails and ladders can also be seen in the patent images. The 19-inch star-shaped alloy with the red calliper is one of the key highlights on the sides.

Mahindra Vision S rear design Patented

At the rear, a flat and upright tailgate is visible. It is visible on both the patent image and also in the concept showcased back in 2025. The inverted L-shape taillamps at the back mirror the front-end lighting signature and also make it recognisable from below. A spare wheel on the tailgate, pixel-style bumper lights, and a higher-mounted braking light are the highlights from the back.

What else do we know about it?

Besides the exterior patented design, the thing that we know about the production-model Mahindra Vision S is that it will underpin the NU_IQ platform that is capable of supporting both the ICE and EV powertrains. Reportedly, the production model of Vision S will be the first vehicle from the brand that will underpin this platform; however, regarding it, Mahindra hasn’t yet confirmed anything.

This upcoming Mahindra Vision S production model may have many features inside the cabin that we get in the concept version. Notably, this SUV has been spotted testing on public roads multiple times, although no major details have surfaced. One of the spied images has given a glimpse of its cabin, which reveals a large touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, and a two-spoke steering wheel similar to the BE 6 model.

The spied screen available on the dashboard may be the features that we are likely to see on the production model, but the use of the BE 6 model steering wheel hints that the spied vehicle isn’t a production-ready model. Things regarding the powertrain are still pending. It is reported that this car will make its debut as an ICE; later, an all-electric counterpart will go on sale.
