The Maruti Suzuki seven-seater all-electric multi-purpose vehicle, which is internally codenamed as YMC has been spotted testing on public roads in India multiple times. Recently, it was again spotted testing in Haryana. The spy shots of the same are floating on the internet. These spied images are shared by Instagram account, carlord_767, which shows the rear of this upcoming electric MPV.
The online surfaced images reveal that this upcoming Maruti Suzuki electric MPV has a slightly sloping rear windscreen; it doesn’t have an upright traditional MPV-style tailgate. Other things which we can clearly see on the back are a roof-integrated spoiler, a shark-fin antenna, and an upper stoplight. The windscreen wiper and defogger are also visible. Regarding taillights, things are still undisclosed.
What else is known about this upcoming Maruti Suzuki eMPV?
Before these sightings of the Maruti Suzuki electric MPV, it was spotted in May 2026, the spy shots from the same have already revealed a few designs about its upfront and sides. These images reveal that at the front end it will have LED headlights, a closed-off grille and vertical air intakes. Notably, the lighting signatures for the front-end are still behind the wrap; we will get to know about it at the launch.
Sides show an A-pillar mounted outside the rear view mirror, mechanical pull-type door handles, and large alloy wheels, but the design is wrapped. From the sides, its silhouette looks more like a large SUV than an MPV. The dimensions for this upcoming Maruti Suzuki electric MPV are also pending; these details will emerge in due time. The earlier spy shots that show the sides seem to have a long wheelbase, but it is tough to say about its distance.
Anything regarding its powertrain?
Maruti Suzuki hasn’t revealed even a single detail for this upcoming electric MPV. So, we didn’t know what the electric motor setup and battery pack were offering. Even the things regarding the drivetrain are still uncertain; it means they are yet to reveal this upcoming model will go on sale with any RWD, FWD, or AWD drivetrain, or any two, or all three.

Currently, Maruti Suzuki is selling only one all-electric car in the Indian market, and this is the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara. The model is on sale from February 2026 in three variants: Delta, Zeta, and Alpha. The first variant is available with a 49 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, and the last two are equipped with the 61 kWh unit.
Notably, all variants of the only Maruti Suzuki electric vehicle are available with a permanent magnet synchronous motor on the front axle featuring a front-wheel-drive drivetrain, which puts out 144 hp and 174 hp power. The 440 km ARAI-certified range is offered for the standard battery variant, and the large battery pack trim runs up to 543 km.
What to expect for this upcoming Maruti Suzuki eMPV?
The Maruti Suzuki internally codenamed ‘YMC’ all-electric multi-purpose vehicle is anticipated to underpin the Heartect-e/27PL platform, the same that underpins the only all-electric model from the brand. We are expecting that the battery packs will be similar to the e-Vitara, although official confirmation is still awaited. These details will emerge at the launch event.
The seven-seater will be available with 2-3-2 layouts, as per the report. The cabin may be equipped with smart features, including ventilated front seats, a large touchscreen infotainment system, and a wireless phone charging pad. Even though the launch timeline is unofficial, its frequent sightings suggest that the launch will happen in the near future.
