Mercedes-AMG, the subsidiary of Mercedes-Benz, has officially revealed the Mercedes-AMG GT SUV, releasing the images and revealing the specifications and features. Reportedly, it is the first full-size SUV from the German automobile manufacturer that they have developed in-house.
The Mercedes-AMG GT SUV has been unveiled in a total of three variants: GT 53, GT 55, and GT 63. The brand will start the sale for the GT 53 variant in European countries in spring 2027, but the same will happen for the GT 55 and GT 63 in late 2027.
Underpins the AMG.EA platform.
The Mercedes-AMG GT SUV is built on the AMG.EA electric platform, the same platform that also underpins the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe. Officially revealed details confirm that it is a five-seater with a 2-3 seating layout, whose length, width, and height are 5,084 mm, 2,001 mm, and 1,656 mm, respectively, with a 3,040 mm wheelbase.
Mercedes-AMG says that the drag coefficient is 0.28 for the GT 53 and 0.27 for the GT 55 and GT 63; they also have revealed the volume of space that helps with carrying the luggage. Behind the second row, the cargo capacity is 607 liters, and there’s also a 78-liter frunk (front storage trunk).
Sits on forged alloy wheels.
Upfront, the Mercedes-AMG GT SUV gets AMG’s iconic vertical-slat Panamericana grille with optional illumination. The grille also features a brand’s star logo at the center. Other details that we get to see on the front end are the star-shaped DRLs and active slats on the bumper to ensure better cooling for the battery pack and electric motor.

In profile, the clearly visible details are the pronounced wheel arches bracketing the forged wheels. Optionally, these wheels will be available in color accents, including Matt Vanadium Silver, Matt Copper, and Matt Black, with a rim flange in Angel Blue, Sunny Lime, or Orange Flame.
A total of 60 color exterior options are available under the Manufaktur program. Flush-type hidden door handles, blackout-outed pillars, and front-door-mounted outside rear-view mirrors are exterior features that enhance premiumness. Its roof also has a black spoiler that adds a sporty touch.

The raet boasts a sport roof-integrated spoiler, which enhances the stability on high-speed; a gloss-black diffuser-style bumper; and six units of taillamps in a circular shape with a star motif inside. At the tailgate center, a large Mercedes-Benz star logo is present, similar to the one found on the front end.
Sport-car-inspired front seats.
As per Mercedes-AMG, the Mercedes-AMG GT SUV has three screens on the dashboard, including two 14-inch touchscreens and one 12-inch display. One of the 14-inch screens placed at the center of the dashboard acts as the infotainment system, and the other as a co-passenger entertainment screen.

The only 12-inch unit is placed behind the steering wheel and is a digital instrument cluster; this screen comes with custom AMG graphics. The German carmaker itself has confirmed that the cockpit runs on MB.OS and also integrates conversational AI tools, including ChatGPT, Microsoft Bing, and Google Gemini.
Seats are present with the low-slung layout getting inspiration from the sports car. Mercedes-AMG says that the front seats are multiple-way powered, and the features of ventilation and massage are set to be available as optional. These optional comforts will further enhance cabin premiumness.
