The second-generation Toyota Fortuner, the full-size seven-seater sport utility vehicle, was available for sale in the Indian market from 2016, which got a facelift back in 2021. Very soon, its successor, the third-generation model, will go on sale internationally. The next-generation version has been spotted testing multiple times on the public road across the globe, hinting the global debut will happen in the near future.
Recently, the new-generation spotted testing on public roads in Thailand revealed the fresh details for this upcoming car. The spy shot for the most recent spotting is shared by the ‘Fortuner Club Thailand Official’; this image shows the car in heavenly camouflage hiding the rear design. Even though the car is wearing heavy camo, many details have emerged for this upcoming vehicle’s rear.
What do the new spy shots reveal?
Analyzing the spied image that shows the rear end, we found that the all-new Toyota Fortuner will have a totally redesigned back profile compared to the outgoing model. Spy shots that show the rear of the vehicle will have a roof-integrated spoiler enhancing the high-speed stability, a sculpted tailgate adding sportiness to the design, and vertically oriented LED taillamps with a modern lighting signature improving visibility of the vehicle from the back.
Last time, it was spied testing on public roads in February 2026; the spy shots of the same reveal a horizontal-shaped slim LED daylight running light is below the hood. Notably, details regarding the front-end lighting signature are still behind the wrap; it seems to be full-width, adding a futuristic touch. Other details of its front-end spy shots revealed earlier are the large grille and sculpted body to make its front-end design totally new.

Earlier spied images also reveal what the new-generation model is going to get on the sides. They already have revealed the pronounced roof rail that helps in mounting luggage on the roof, the A-pillar-mounted outside rear view mirror, the side footstep for easier ingress and egress, the large multiple-spoke alloy wheels for enhanced road presence, and the pull-type door handles for better door opening practicality.
Any update on features?
The spied images already have revealed radar and cameras at the front end, hinting it is equipped with the ADAS suite. Other expected features are a digital driver display under the steering wheel and a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system at the dashboard’s center. Reports confirm the wireless smartphone connectivity and connected car technology with over-the-air software updates.
The 360-degree camera to get the surround view, wireless phone charging pad at the center console, panoramic glass sunroof for premiumness, and ventilated front seats are the features that are most likely to be offered. The seating layout 2-3-2 will continue with the enhanced cargo capacity behind the second row, as the dimensional changes are most likely for this upcoming car.
Five multi-terrain are available; they are dirt, sand, mud, rock, and snow. A multiple-speaker sound system is set to be integrated with an infotainment screen to enhance the immersive audio experience. For safety, this upcoming car is set to be equipped with multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Control, and a Pre-Collision System with autonomous emergency braking.
