Mahindra XUV 3XO ZNG

The Mahindra XUV 3XO, which was earlier available with only a pure turbo-petrol, pure diesel, and battery electric powertrain, has now received a new powertrain option, petrol-CNG. Mahindra Auto launched the Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG on October 15, 2026, and confirmed that the booking and delivery will start on the 20th of the month.

Mahindra has introduced a total of four variants for the Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG; these variants are MX Edge, RevX Edge (O), AX5, and RevX A. Notably, the ex-showroom price starts from ₹9.99 lakh and goes up to ₹12.97 lakh. For reference, we have shared a variant-wise ex-showroom price inside the table available below.

MX Edge₹9.99 Lakh
RevX Edge (O)₹10.79 Lakh
AX5₹11.19 Lakh
RevX A₹12.27 Lakh

Mahindra says that under the hood, there’s a 1,197 cc 1.2-liter MStallion TCMPFi (Turbocharged Multipoint Fuel Injection) three-cylinder petrol-powered internal combustion engine. Official revelation from the carmaker has confirmed that the power output is 112 PS at 5,000 rpm and 200 Nm at 1,500 to 3,500 rpm in CNG mode.

Other details that Mahindra has confirmed are the front-wheel-drive drivetrain, like the other three powertrains. Regarding transmission, the brand also says that it is available only with the six-speed manual transmission. It means the six-speed automatic gearbox that we get to see in the pure turbo-petrol version isn’t available.

Mahindra itself has confirmed that this company SUV has features that allow it to automatically switch to petrol mode when the CNG runs low. Even the brand says that the ARAI-certified mileage on CNG mode is 24.7 km per kg, but the things regarding the real-world CNG fuel economy are still pending.

Mahindra XUV 3XO Dual CNG Cylinder

The Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG has received the two CNG tanks inside the boot space. The cargo capacity that we get with the pure-petrol version is 364 liters, but for the petrol-CNG it is only 276 liters because of the installation of a CNG tank. It means the boot space is now significantly affected, which may affect luggage-carrying practicality.

Launching this sub-4-meter SUV, Mahindra has made it clear apart from the introduction of the new powertrain by installing the CNG tanks behind the second-row seats, all remains familiar. It means the dimensions are still as follows:

Length3,990 mm
Width1,821 mm
Height1,647 mm (with roof rails)
Wheelbase2,600 mm
Ground Clearance201 mm

Note only the dimensions; also, the platform, suspension, and braking system are retained. It means the Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG underpins Mahindra’s X100 platform, whose front and rear suspension is MacPherson Strut with an anti-roll bar and coil springs and a semi-independent twist beam with coil springs, respectively.

The solid disc brakes that we get with the pure-petrol version are available for the CNG. Braking-related features ABS, EBD, and ESC are available on this version, which ensures safe braking. The features and technology are also the same as the pure-petrol version. Notably, they vary depending on the Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG variant.

The base one, MX Edge, has a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with a four-speaker sound system, sits on 16-inch steel wheels, and is equipped with six airbags. The RevX Edge (O) also adds a single-pane skyroof (sunroof) and roof rails. The AX5 trim is more feature-rich; it also adds a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and replaces the four-speaker sound system with six units.

The top-end variant, RevX A, comes with more aesthetics and safety features. The black leatherette upholstery and dual-tone exterior finish enhance and add premiumness; and 360-degree camera and tire pressure monitoring system are the features that enhance occupants’ safety.
