BYD’s sub-brand Denza has officially confirmed its debut in the Indian market with the release of a poster on a social platform. The models that will make the debut are the Z9 GT and D9
Denza, the subsidiary of Build Your Dreams, has officially confirmed that they will soon make their debut in the Indian market. Currently, this brand is selling new energy vehicles in China and many international markets. The next country where they are going to launch the vehicles is India. The company confirmed their imminent debut in India, releasing the poster on social media platforms.
Reports suggest that they are going to make their debut in the Indian market with two different models, the Denza Z9 GT and Denza D9. The former one is a four-door shooting brake, and the latter is a luxury multipurpose vehicle. They both are available for sale in the international market with all-electric powertrains; however, their specifications are different from one another.
Denza’s parent company BYD is already selling electric vehicles in the Indian market. The available models are the BYD Atto 3, BYD Seal, BYD Sealion 7, and BYD eMAX 7. The first three are five-seaters, and the last one is available with a seating capacity of six or seven people. Very soon, they will also launch a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle. The upcoming PHEV will be the BYD Seal U DM-i.

BYD is operating in India as BYD India, a subsidiary company for the Chinese one. They sell the model whose price is under ₹50 lakh. BYD’s sub-brand Denza is confirmed to operate as Denza India, which will sell the models that will cost around ₹1 crore. It means, under the Denza nameplate, those models are coming that are premium and luxury.
Denza India will soon reveal the details regarding the upcoming cars: the Denza Z9 GT and the Denza D9. The first one is available for sale in the Chinese market with the all-wheel-drive drivetrain, which has three electric motors: two are present on the rear axle and one on the front axle. These motors combined deliver 1,156 hp and 1,210 Nm, making 0 to 100 kmph acceleration possible in 2.7 seconds.

Moreover, this electric car gets an in-house-built 122.49 kWh lithium-ion battery. After each full charge, this vehicle can run up to 600 km in CLTC condition. As a performance e-car, it can reach a maximum speed of 270 kmph, one of the best among the rivals. Dimensions in terms of length, width, and height are 5,180 mm, 1,990 mm, and 1,490 mm, respectively.
The latter one i.e. the Denza D9, is sold out in the Chinese market as FWD. This car gets a permanent magnet synchronous motor on the front axle, which delivers 313 hp and 360 Nm. Beneath the floor, this car features a 103 kWh lithium-ion battery that gives a 520 km CLTC range after each full charge. This vehicle supports a DC charger up to 200 kW that takes half an hour for 30 to 80 per cent charging.
The main highlight for this car is that it gets capacious seats in the second row with heating, ventilation, and massage functions. These seats are also electronically adjustable. Other key features are the three-zone climate control, the Dynaudio premium audio system, full leather upholstery, and ambient lighting. These features ensure executive comfort for second-row passengers.
It is worth noting that the launch date for either of the Denza models isn’t officially confirmed for the India market. As per recent automotive reports, the launch of these electric vehicles, the Denza Z9 GT Shooting Brake and the Denza D9 luxury MPV, will take place near the festive season. Both of these models are coming via the CBU route; pricing and other details for them will emerge with the launch.
