Skoda Auto India, the Indian subsidiary of the Czech automobile manufacturer Škoda Auto, has introduced two new color options for the Skoda Slavia Monte Carlo Edition; they are Shimla Green and Steel Grey. They are available as a double tone with a black roof. Notably, they are going to sell only 200 units with these color options.
With the addition of two new colors, now it is available with a total of seven options; the other five are Lava Blue, Deep Black, Candy White, Brilliant Silver, and Cherry Red. Interestingly, the ex-showroom price remains the same for the two new color options. The model is still available with the ex-showroom price, whose price ranges from ₹16.69 lakh to ₹18.19 lakh.
The Monte Carlo Edition of the Skoda Slavia is based on the Prestige variant, which has blacked-out front grille and bumper accents to enhance the front fascia’s modern appearance. Other notable features on its exterior are black outside rear-view mirrors with integrated blinkers, 16-inch black alloy wheels, Monte Carlo badges on the front fenders to reflect the branding, smoked LED tail lamps, and a black boot-lip spoiler to ensure high-speed stability.
Dimensionally, it is 4,541 mm longer, 1,752 mm wider, and 1,507 mm taller. Its wheelbase is 2,651 mm, and ground clearance is 179 mm. Features seating capacity of 5 people in 2-3 layouts, which have a cargo capacity of 521 liters behind the second row. Inside, red and black leatherette upholstery with Monte Carlo branding, Monte Carlo-branded scuff plates, red stitching on the door armrests, and metal sport pedals.
Before the driver’s seat, there’s a two-spoke multi-function steering wheel with a Skoda logo, under which it has a red-themed 8-inch digital instrument cluster showing all the driving data. The center of the dashboard has a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which supports wireless connectivity via Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, voice command support, Skoda Play Apps with connected car technology, and OTA software updates.
The infotainment screen also supports Bluetooth connectivity and navigation via mobile phone connectivity. It is integrated with a 380W premium audio system with eight high-performance speakers. Also features a dedicated subwoofer for enhanced bass response. Other notable features inside the cabin are a wireless phone charging pad, an electric sunroof, a cooled glovebox, ambient lighting, and a USB charging port across the rows.
Built on the MQB-A0-IN modular platform featuring a front-wheel-drive drivetrain, it features MacPherson struts with lower triangular links and a stabilizer bar in front and a twist beam axle at the rear. It has ventilated disc brakes on the front wheels and drums on the rear. It comes with a manual handbrake and electric power steering. For braking safety, it also has ABS, EBD, ESC, TPMS, and others.
Available with two turbo-petrol ICEs, the first one is a 999 cc 1.0-liter 3-cylinder with a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox, whose power output and peak torque are 115 hp and 178 Nm, respectively; to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h takes 10.8 seconds, and top speed is 195 km/h; and the second is a 1,498 cc 1.5-liter 4-cylinder with 7-speed DSG automatic transmission, its power is 150 hp and torque is 250 Nm, its 0 to 100 km/h acceleration timing is 8.7 seconds, and top speed is 220 km/h.
The ARAI-certified fuel efficiency for a less powerful internal combustion engine is 18.73 km/l, and the same for the powerful one is 20.32 km/l. The more powerful ICE has better mileage because of Active Cylinder Technology . Features 45 liters of fuel in the range, and the claimed range on a full tank is up to 843 kilometres and up to 914 kilometres for the variant that is equipped with a three-cylinder and four-cylinder ICE, respectively.
