2026 MG 07 Electric Sedan Revealed: 510 km CLTC Range & 150,000 Yuan Price

Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation’s Morris Garages has unveiled its first all-electric sedan, 2026 MG 07, for the Chinese market, which comes with a roof-mounted LiDAR unit, a part of ADAS that makes the driving almost autonomous with smart features.

The carmaker hasn’t confirmed the date for launch, but as per reports, they will introduce it by late 2026. There’s high speculation that the car will be available for sale with a price range from 150,000 to 200,000 CNY, which translates to 22,100 to 29,500 USD.

On May 9, 2026, Saturday, the MG shared official images of the MG 07 sedan, which revealed all about its exterior. In the teased image, the vehicle is in a striking purple color.

Up front, it gets slim LED headlights giving a sharp appearance, a closed-off grille to improve aerodynamics, a sporty bumper to add aggressiveness, and a roof-mounted LiDAR unit that reflects its smart EV.

In profile, fastback rooflines are visible, giving coupe-like styling like the Porsche Taycan and Xiaomi SU7; hidden door handles to reduce drag and add a premium touch; and seven-spoke large alloy wheels.

The rear has a full-width LED taillight creating a wide stance, an MG logo at the center for branding, and tapered space to improve airflow. Dimensions aren’t yet revealed, but it is likely to be 4.9 meters long, quite similar to the BYD Seal, Xiaomi SU7, and Tesla Model 3.

To be offered with a seating capacity of 5 people in a traditional configuration of 2-3, the second-row seats are bench-type, but made of premium-quality material to ensure better comfort. Behind it, there will be a large cargo space that can easily carry at least 2-3 big pieces of luggage.

Its interior is yet to be revealed, but a few things are certain: on the dashboard, there will be a floating touchscreen infotainment system with wireless connectivity for the remote control; it will manage all the cabin settings; and also a driver display under the steering wheel showing all driving data.

Set to get a powered panoramic sunroof with UV rays and heating, so the cabin maintains its comfortable temperature. Other interior expected features are a wireless charging pad in the front row, USB charging ports at both ends, a multi-speaker premium audio system, and Customizable multi-color ambient lighting.

The front row’s passenger seat is expected to be zero-gravity with ventilation, heating, and massage functions, and the rear seat is anticipated to support reclining so the rear-seating passengers may relax during the long journey.

It is built on SAIC’s Modular Scalable Platform, which is also known as the Nebula Platform and SAIC E3 architecture in China. The MG4 EV, MG Cyberster, MGS6 EV, Roewe D, and the upcoming MG 4X are also made on the same architecture.

Details regarding its powertrain and performance are also pending; reportedly, it will get a semi-solid-state battery featuring a range of 510 km on CLTC conditions. It is set to be based on 800-volt electrical architecture, meaning it may support ultra-fast DC chargers.

Most likely to come with both single-motor RWD and double-motor AWD configurations, both will use e-CVT transmission. If the AWD trim is offered, its acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h will be under 7 seconds.

Reports even say that after introducing it with an all-electric powertrain, the carmaker will also introduce it as a PHEV that will come with an internal combustion engine, one or two electric motors, and a small battery pack.
