Tesla finally has unveiled the most-awaited all-electric car, Tesla Roadster. But it is still a concept, not a production model. If you are a Tesla fan, you will know of the fact that the American EV maker showcased the earlier Tesla Roadster concept back in 2017, and almost nine years after that, they have showcased a new concept.
Compared to the older one, the newly introduced concept from Tesla has a sharper design. Tesla has showcased three versions for this all-electric concept car; they are Performance, Thrust, and Rocket. As per the company, the first one is to be produced for road use, and the other two come with the performance capabilities.
Reports suggest that the Thrust variant is designed for circuit racing and track use, while the Rocket is for airborne maneuvers, extreme performance, and experimental flight capabilities. The Tesla showcased this electric vehicle to the world via a LIVE webcast and also unveiled the core specifications for each of them.
As per the American EV maker, the first two variants of the Tesla Roadster are available with a seating capacity of two people, and the last one is only for one. Notably, in terms of performance, they all are outstanding. The entry-level variant that the Tesla has showcased for road use will take under 1.6 seconds for a 0 to 60 km/h sprint.
The acceleration timing for zero to sixty miles per hour is also made public for the last two variants. According to Tesla, the Thrust version takes under 0.9 seconds, and Rocket only 0.59 seconds. Notably, the 0 to 60 kmph acceleration translates to 0 to 96.6 kmph, not 100 kmph. In this meaning, sprinting up to 100 kmph will take a little more time.

Besides the acceleration time, Tesla has also revealed the top speed for the Rocket version and climbed mileage without unveiling the testing cycle and version. The officially revealed top speed for Rocket trim is 230 kmph, which is equivalent to 370 kmph. Reports suggest that the mileage is for the performance version and the testing cycle is EPA.
The multi-mode suspension system is available in all three variants of the Tesla Roaster, if you are unaware of it; for your clarification, it is also known as an active fan-assisted downforce system that uses high-powered electric fans beneath the bodywork of a car to actively pull it down onto the road surface, ensuring high-speed stability.

Another thing that has been unveiled officially is the cold-gas thruster, an aerospace propulsion assembly that Tesla has developed by collaborating with its sibling company SpaceX. It is worth noting that this is available only for the last two variants. The Thrust variant has this at the rear, and the Rocket features it at the perimeter, i.e., all four sides.
Regarding design, Tesla says that they have developed it by taking inspiration from the SR-71 and F-35 aircraft. The angular bodywork, concealed headlights, and a full-width rear light are the elements that are clearly visible on its exterior. It sits on the lightweight wheels that have thin spokes to keep the curb weight as low as they can.
Apart from using the lightweight wheels, the Tesla has used magnesium, carbon fiber, and titanium to reduce the mass. For the Indian market, Tesla has officially started the booking. On the Tesla India website the reservation is taking place with the amount of ₹5.01 lakh. Tesla itself has confirmed that they start production in 2028.
