The BE 7 from Mahindra & Mahindra will make its debut in India very soon. The carmaker showcased its concept back in August 2022 during Mahindra’s Born Electric Vision event held in the United Kingdom; the production model of the same has been spotted testing near Mahindra’s SUV Proving Track outside Chennai.
The spy shots of the BE 7 that are floating on the internet have revealed many details about its exterior deposit being heavily camouflaged. Outside, it features an upright stance, slim LED headlights, large alloy wheels, a large front-door-mounted outside rear-view mirror, flush-type door handles, frameless windows, a body sill, a rugged rear bumper, and a roof-integrated rear spoiler.
The BE 7 is set to be the fourth model in the electric vehicle lineup of the carmaker on Mahindra’s INGLO skateboard platform, after the BE 6, XEV 9e, and XEV 9S. This upcoming electric car from Mahindra & Mahindra is all set to be positioned above the BE 6 in the portfolio and may cost ex-showroom between ₹19.99 lakh and ₹29.99 lakh.

The actual date for the launch isn’t officially confirmed. There’s a high speculation that Mahindra & Mahindra will introduce this model to the domestic market on the occasion of Indian Independence Day 2026, which falls on August 15, 2026. If they plan to launch it on the date we are expecting, then an announcement will be made very soon, registering the launch of a new EV model.
After the launch, the BE 7 will compete with the BYD Atto 3, the Tata Harrier EV, and the VinFast VF 7. The production model of this EV looks quite similar to the BE.07 concept. So we are expecting that its dimensions are set to be identical to the BE. 07 concept, which measures 4,565 mm in length with a 2,775 mm wheelbase, 1,900 mm width, and 1,660 mm height.
The carmaker is all set to introduce it to the Indian market with a seating capacity of 5 people in a 2-3 layout with a large boot space to ensure better practicality for families. The cabin will feature many smart and advanced features to ensure the comfort and convenience of all occupants.
Inside, we may get to see three display layouts on the dashboard: first, under the steering wheel as a digital instrument cluster; second, in the center as an infotainment system; and third, before the co-passenger seat for entertainment purposes. The entertainment and infotainment screens will support OTA software updates and wireless multi-device connectivity.

The features it may get are a wireless phone charging pad, compartment storage, a large glovebox, automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof with an electronic sunshade, a level 2 advanced driving assistant system suite, a multi-speaker sound system, a ventilated and electronically adjustable front seat, and a USB charging port.
The manufacturer hasn’t confirmed that they will introduce it with only single-motor rear-wheel drive and also with a double-motor all-wheel-drive drivetrain. The RWD will get a PMSM with a one-speed automatic gearbox on the rear, and if AWD comes, it will get an induction motor on the front axle. Many reports are saying they will introduce the BE 7 with a double-motor setup to give competition to the recently launched Sierra EV’s top variant.
The carmaker may introduce the model with two different lithium-ion blade battery packs that can be 59 kWh and 79 kWh. The rear-wheel drive variant may be available with both battery packs, but the all-wheel drive option, if it is introduced, will come with only the larger one. Most likely to give the ARAI-certified range above 600 km with the larger battery and will support fast DC charging.
