Denza, a premium luxury new energy vehicle manufacturer and subsidiary of Chinese carmaker Built Your Dream, will launch the Denza Z, a high-performance battery-electric sports car, on July 9, 2026, at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in West Sussex. At the event, they will release the price, delivery details and all.
Following the launch in Europe, it will compete with the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT, Tesla Model S Plaid, and Lotus Emeya R. The specs and features for this upcoming all-electric sports car are already available in the public domain via the domestic homologation process. It is a 2-door vehicle with a seating capacity of 4 people in a 2-2 layout.
Built on the e³ Platform, which gets a TZ220QYD electric motor on the front axle and two TZ226XYG motors on the rear axle, one on each wheel’s side. The power output of the front motor is 500 kW (670 hp), and each rear motor delivers the power of 340 kW (456 hp). The combined power output is 1,180 kW (1,582 hp), with 0 to 100 km/h acceleration timing of 2 seconds and a top speed of 350 km/h.
The drivetrain is all-wheel drive, and the transmission is a single-speed automatic. Equipped with BYD’s next-generation Blade lithium-ion battery pack; however, the capacity is still pending. It will support BYD ultra-fast charging, taking only 5 minutes for 10 to 70 percent charging and a maximum of 9 minutes for 10 to 97 percent charging.

It will be available with both body types that are hardtop (coupe) and convertible (roadster) with the kerb weights of 2,220 kg and 2,290 kg, respectively. The length, width and height of the roadster is 4,780 mm with 2,780 mm wheelbase, 1,990 mm and 1,350 mm, respectively. The dimensions of the coupe are the same in terms of metrics, except height; it measures 1300 mm, 20 mm less than the coupe version.
Some reports even mention that the Denza will also introduce a sport version whose length is set to be 4,870 mm with a 2,780 mm wheelbase, and whose width and height measure 1,990 mm and 1,330 mm, respectively; its kerb weight is 2,240 kg. Reportedly, the carmaker will introduce the hardtop and convertible with 20-inch alloy wheels but the sport version with forged alloy wheels.
Details regarding the tire types and size are available in the public domain. The Convertible and Hardtop get radial tires; the first one’s sizes are 255/40 in front and 265/40 in the rear, and the second’s front measures 255/40 and rear 295/35. The sport version gets a high-speed radial tire with a 275/35 size in front and a 325/30 in the rear.
It is set to be equipped with BYD’s most advanced adaptive suspension system, DiSus-M Magnetorheological (MR), which adjusts the shock absorber electrically, full of fluid and tiny magnetic particles, with a response time of milliseconds by monitoring road conditions, vehicle speed, steering angle, acceleration and braking, and body movement to provide a comfortable driving experience in all types of terrains.
It will also feature a steer-by-wire chassis, a steering system where there’s no gap between the steering wheel and front wheels, which helps with faster and more precise steering responses. The DiPilot 5.0 Assisted Driving System, one of BYD’s latest ADAS, is confirmed for it that works with multiple sensors and cameras, featuring navigation autopilot for highway cruising and other smart features that make driving stress-free.
