BYD Hikes Prices by Up to ₹1L on 4 Models From July 1

In India, Build Your Dreams is selling four models that are the BYD Atto 3, the BYD eMAX, the BYD Seal, and the BYD Sealion 7. BYD India, the Indian subsidiary of the Chinese carmaker, has announced the price hike that is effective from July 1, 2026. For the existing model, the price is increased by ₹50,000 to ₹1 lakh, not for all variants of each. Let’s have a closer look at each model, one-by-one.

The Atto 3 was available for sale with the ex-showroom price of ₹24.99 lakh, ₹29.85 lakh, and ₹33.99 lakh for the Dynamic, Premium, and Superior variants, respectively. Now, they have increased the price by ₹50,000 for the last two variants; the first one’s price still remains the same. It gets a permanent magnet synchronous motor with a single-speed automatic transmission on the front axle, featuring a front-wheel-drive drivetrain. 

The electric motor generates the power of 201 hp and peak torque of 310 Nm, which helps it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 160 km/h. The first variant comes with a 49.92 kWh battery pack, and the last two variants with the 60.48 kWh LFP Blade battery pack, whose ARAI-certified range is 468 km and 521 km, respectively. Support DC chargers of 70 to 88 kWh, which take 37 to 50 minutes for 10-80% charging.

The eMax was available with the ex-showroom prices of ₹26.90 lakh, ₹27.50 lakh, ₹29.30 lakh, and ₹27.50 lakh for the Premium 6-Seater, Premium 7-Seater, Superior 6-Seater, and Superior 7-Seater, respectively. Now, the name of Premium is changed to Comfort, and the price for the 7-seater is increased by ₹80,000 and for the 6-seater by ₹100,000. Notably, there’s no change in the name or price for the Superior variants.

Get a PMSM with a one-speed automatic gearbox on the front axle featuring a FWD drivetrain. Its electric motor also generates a maximum power of 201 hp and peak torque of 310 Nm, but the 0 to 100 km/h acceleration is 8.6 seconds, and the top speed is 160 km/h. All variants are equipped with a 71.8 kWh lithium-ion Blade battery pack, which gives an NEDC range of 530 km, and supports a DC charger up to 115 kW, which takes 37 minutes for 0-80% charging.

Before July 1, 2026, India was selling the Seal with the prices of the Dynamic, Premium, and Performance variants at the ex-showroom prices of ₹41.00 lakh, ₹45.70 lakh, and ₹53.15 lakh, respectively. Now the prices have increased by ₹50,000 on each variant. The first two variants are available with a single-motor RWD drivetrain, and the last one with a double-motor AWD. The rear electric motor of each variant is mated with a single-speed automatic gearbox.

The power out and peak torque are 150 kW (204 hp) and 310 Nm, 230 kW (313 hp) and 360 Nm, and 390 kW (530 hp) and 670 Nm for the Dynamic, Premium, and Performance variants, respectively. The 0 to 100 kmph acceleration timing for 0 to 100 kmph is 7.5 seconds, 5.9 seconds, and 3.8 seconds for the first, second, and third ones, respectively, and the top speed for each variant is 180 kmph.

The Sealion 7 was available with an ex-showroom price of ₹49.40 lakh for Premium, which comes with a single-motor RWD drivetrain, and ₹54.90 lakh for Performance, which gets one motor on each axle and features AWD. The price for the first one is increased by ₹50,000 and the second by ₹1 lakh. Both variants are equipped with an 82.56 kWh LFP Blade Battery pack, giving a range of 567 km and 542 km, respectively, under NEDC conditions.

The rear-wheel drive variant generates the power of 230 kW (308 hp) and peak torque of 380 Nm; its 0 to 100 km/h acceleration timing is 6.7 seconds and 215 km/h; and, on the other hand, all-wheel drive’s combined power output is 390 kW (523 hp) and peak torque is 690 Nm; it can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds, and its top speed is also 215 km/h.
