2026 Renault Kwid vs Maruti Suzuki Alto K10: Price, Features and Mileage Compared

The Renault Kwid facelift launch happened on July 3, 2026; one among its rivals is the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10. Both are hatchbacks, which are powered by internal combustion engines. Here, we have come to a detailed comparison between them in terms of ex-showroom price, dimensions and space, interior and features, and powertrain and performance.

Ex-showroom Price 

The Renault car is available with a starting ex-showroom price of ₹4.53 lakh, and the Maruti Suzuki vehicle is with ₹3.70 lakh and goes up to ₹5.61 lakh for the former and ₹6.30 lakh for the latter. In terms of ex-showroom price, the Kwid base variant is affordable at ₹83,000 and the top-end trim by ₹69,000.

Dimensions & Space 

The legend, width, and height of the Kwid are 3,731 mm, 1,579 mm, and 1,490 mm, respectively, and the Alto K10 is 201 mm shorter, 80 mm narrower, but 30 mm taller. The wheelbase of the Renault car is 2,422 mm and 22 mm longer than the Maruti Suzuki vehicle.

The wheelbase of the Kwid and Alto 10 is 184 mm and 167 mm, respectively; for clarity, the Renault car is more capable of easily passing the road with potholes because it has 17 mm more ride height. Both are available as 5-seaters, but the Kwid has a large boot space of 65 liters; the actual boot space is 279 liters and 214 liters for Renault and Maruti Suzuki vehicles, respectively. 

Interior & Features 

Under the steering wheel, both get a digital instrument cluster. The center of the dashboard features a digital instrument cluster of 7 inches for the Renault car and 8 inches for the Maruti Suzuki vehicle, which supports wired Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The Kwid’s infotainment is integrated with a two-speaker sound system, but the Alto K10 has four units. 

The common features available in both models are a reverse parking camera, steering-mounted phone controls, steering-mounted audio controls, Bluetooth connectivity, and rear parking sensors. Kwid’s all windows are powered, but Alto 10’s only have front. Electrically adjustable outside rear-view mirrors and a rear parcel shelf are available only in the Renault car. 

They both have manual air conditioning to keep the occupants cool in case of summer, central locking, a type-A USB port for phone charging, voice recognition, and fabric upholstery for the front and rear seats. Notably, neither of them has a wireless phone charger and connected car technology.

Powertrain & Performance 

Both are equipped with a 1.0-liter, 3-cylinder, naturally aspirated, petrol-powered internal combustion engine; the displacement is 999 cc for the Kwid and 998 cc for the Alto K10. The combined power output is 69 hp (69 PS) at 5,500 rpm, and peak torque is 192.5 Nm at 4,250 rpm for the former, and 66.62 hp (67 PS) at 5,500 rpm and 89 Nm at 3,500 rpm for the latter. 

For clarity, the Kwid generates 2.38 hp power and 3.5 Nm torque. They both are available with a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT and a front-wheel-drive drivetrain. The Renault car is available as pure petrol, and Maruti Suzuki is also available as a CNG variant. The fuel efficiency is 22.5 kmpl for the Kwid, but the Alto 10 has 2.4 kmpl better ARAI-certified mileage.

With the fuel tank of 27 liters, the Kwid gives a range of 607.5 kilometers, and the same for the Alto K10 is 697.2 kilometers with a 28-liter fuel tank. For clarity, in ideal conditions, the Alto 10 from Maruti Suzuki is the one that gives 90 km better range.
