5 Upcoming Car Launches in India May 2026: Price, Specs, and Details
The Indian automobile market is all set to see the launch of five cars in May 2026. The list includes ICE, hybrid, and electric vehicles from the affordable sedan to the premium SUV. Vehicles that are all set to be introduced in the Indian market are the 5th-Gen Honda City 2nd Facelift, Honda ZR-V, Tata Sierra EV, MG Majestor, and Toyota Ebella. Let’s have a closer look.
5th-Gen Honda City 2nd Facelift
Reports say that the Japanese automobile manufacturer Honda is all set to introduce the second facelift of the fifth generation of the Honda City, a mid-size sedan, on May 22, 2026; its ex-showroom price is expected to be between ₹12 lakh and ₹20 lakh. It is set to get ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera, and a large touchscreen infotainment system.
They will launch with ICE and hybrid powertrains. The ICE has a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol (i-VTEC) engine, whose power output is 121 PS and peak torque is 145 Nm, featuring the option of a 6MT and CVT gearbox; and the hybrid gets a 1.5-litre petrol engine and electric motor. Its power output is 126 PS, and the transmission option is e-CVT.
Honda ZR-V

On May 22, 2026, Honda will launch not only the 5th-Gen Honda City 2nd Facelift but also the Honda ZR-V, a compact crossover SUV with a seating capacity of 5 people. Interior features include a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, dual-zone climate control, wireless charging, a powered driver seat, a sunroof and ambient lighting.
It is set to come with the Honda e:HEV system (similar to the technology featured in the upcoming Honda Prelude), featuring a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine with two electric motors under the hood. The drivetrain is FWD and the transmission is e-CVT, and its power output is 180 hp and peak torque is 315 Nm. The price is yet to be revealed, but there’s high speculation that it will be introduced at an ex-showroom price of ₹40-50 lakh.
Tata Sierra EV
The Sierra EV from Tata Motors is set to be an all-electric version of its ICE sibling. The Indian auto manufacturer is yet to confirm its launch date, but various reports say that the company will introduce it to the Indian market in mid-May 2026. It is anticipated that its ex-showroom price will start from ₹15 lakh for the base and go up to ₹25 lakh for the top-end variant.
The interior is set to come with the triple-screen dashboard setup, a large panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, Level-2 ADAS, ambient lighting, and other smart features. It is built on Tata’s acti.ev Gen 2 architecture and expected to come with a single-motor FWD drivetrain and double-motor AWD configuration.
MG Majestor
The British automobile manufacturer MG Motor will introduce the Majestor, a full-size ladder-frame SUV, with a seating capacity of 5 people in a layout of 2-3 and 7 people in a configuration of 2-3-2. The launch date is yet to be confirmed officially, but reportedly, it will make its Indian debut in May 2026. The expected ex-showroom price is ₹40-46 lakh.
Its main features are a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof, and a 360° camera. Set to come with a 2.0 litre twin-turbo diesel engine, whose power output is 215 PS and peak torque is 478 Nm. Its launch will happen with both RWD and AWD configurations, with only the transmission option of an 8-speed automatic.
Toyota Ebella

The Japanese automaker Toyota was unveils Ebella, a mid-size five-seater all-electric SUV, on January 20, 2026, and now its launch is slated for May 2026. Its ex-showroom price is expected to be between ₹18 lakh and ₹21 lakh. Its cabin is equipped with a 10.25-inch infotainment system and 10.1-inch digital driver display that supports wireless connectivity.
Other feature highlights are a wireless phone charging pad, a JBL sound system, a 360° camera, and 7 airbags. It comes with two battery packs that are 49 kWh and 61 kWh, featuring a single-motor FWD drivetrain with the power output of 144 PS and 174 PS, respectively, and peak torque of 189 Nm. Its ARAI-certified range is from 440 km to 543 km.
