Honda ZR-V and City Facelift India Launch on May 22: Price, Specs, and Features

Reportedly, the Japanese automaker is all set to launch the ZR-V, a compact crossover SUV, and the second facelift of the fifth-generation City, a mid-size sedan, on May 22, 2026, for the Indian market.

The first may come with the ex-showroom price between ₹40 lakh and ₹50 lakh, as it is set to be imported as CBU from Japan, and the latter may cost ex-showroom from ₹12 lakh to ₹20 lakh.

Honda ZR-V

The ZR-V comes with a seating capacity of 5 people in a layout of 2 and 3. Features a boot space of 380 litres, which helps to carry 3 big pieces of luggage. The dimensions in terms of length, width, height, wheelbase, and ground clearance are 4,568 mm, 1,840 mm, 1,620 mm, 2,655 mm and 180 mm, respectively.

Up front, it gets a wide honeycomb grille, slim LED headlights with DRLs and an aggressive bumper. In profile, it features a coupé-like sloping roofline, strong shoulder line and large alloy wheels. At the rear, it comes with slim horizontal LED taillights, a clean tailgate design and a roof-mounted spoiler.

The interior is equipped with a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system at the centre of the 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster under the steering wheel. The infotainment system acts like a control panel of the cabin, and the digital instrument cluster shows all the driving data, including speed and navigation.

Screens support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for wireless connectivity and feature a 12-speaker Bose premium sound system to ensure a theatre-like audio experience. For convenience, it gets a wireless charging pad and USB ports at both rows for phone charging. Also comes with the rear AC vents and multi-zone climate control.

It is certain that the features and design will be the same as the one available in International, but for India, a change in powertrain and performance is expected. It may get a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder Atkinson-cycle petrol engine under the hood with an electric motor-featuring-front-wheel-drive drivetrain, whose power output is 180 hp and peak torque is 315 Nm. This move aligns with Honda’s hybrid strategy which we previously saw with the Honda Prelude Hybrid.

Honda 5th-Gen City 2nd Facelift

The second facelift of the fifth generation of the City features a seating capacity of five people in a traditional layout of 2-3. Its Indian debut will happen as petrol-powered and hybrid, with a cargo of 506 litres and 306 litres, respectively. The petrol one can carry 5 big pieces of luggage, and the hybrid can carry only 3.

The dimensions in terms of length are 4,574 mm (top trims come with 4,583 mm), width is 1,748 mm, height is 1,489 mm, wheelbase is 2,600 mm and ground clearance is 165 mm, the same as the outgoing model. It gets a new grill, revised LED headlights and DRLs, updated front and rear bumpers, tweaked tail-lamps and new alloy wheel designs; these are the changes on the exterior noticed via spotting.

The interior is expected to get a larger infotainment system with an updated user interface that controls all vehicle settings and supports wireless connectivity. Also may get a digital instrument cluster for drivers with all driving data on it. The front seats are likely to be ventilated, and the driver’s seat set to be electronically powered. Other features expected are wireless phone charging pads.

The petrol-powered variant is set to be introduced with a 1.5L i-VTEC petrol engine, whose power output is 121 hp and peak torque is 145 Nm. It is set to come with a front-wheel drive drivetrain and get a 6MT (six-speed manual transmission) and CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) gearbox and is expected to give mileage of 17–18 km/l.

On the other hand, the hybrid with a 1.5L Atkinson-cycle petrol and dual electric motors under the hood is in-line and features a small lithium-iron battery pack, which generates the power of 126 hp and torque of 253 Nm. Its drivetrain is FWD, its transmission is e-CVT, and its fuel efficiency is 27-28 kmpl.

The main rivals for the ZR-V in the Indian market are the Volkswagen Tiguan and Skoda Kodiaq, and the 2nd facelift 5th-gen City is set to compete with the Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Virtus, and Skoda Slavia.
