3 Renault CNG Cars Confirmed for India: ₹5.5L Kwid to ₹11.8L Kiger

Renault, a French automaker, is all set to launch the three CNG cars in the Indian market in 2026, which will be offered with factory-fitted CNG tanks. The list includes the next-gen Renault Kwid CNG, the next-gen Renault Triber CNG and the next-gen Renault Kiger CNG. Notably, all of them are set to be built on Renault Group Entry Platform (RGEP) architecture, which they revealed at the 2026 FutuReady event.

The upcoming CNG cars from Renault will come equipped with two interconnected CNG cylinders beneath the floor, replacing the boot-mounted single cylinder, freeing up the cargo space and ensuring better practicality for the family. The upcoming Renault’s CNG cars will have a spacious cabin that will have the capacity to carry multiple pieces of luggage conveniently.

Reportedly, they all get the same 1.0 litre 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol internal combustion engine under the hood that will be mated with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The option of automatic transmission may be offered for all these three models. Let’s have a closer look at each of the above-mentioned factory-fitted CNG tank cars.

The next-generation Renault Kwid CNG may be introduced to the Indian market in late 2026, but they are yet to reveal the price. Reportedly, they will introduce the ex-showroom price ranging from ₹5.5 lakh to ₹6.3 lakh. Current models give a mileage of 28 km/kg to 30 km/kg for city driving and 30 km/kg to 32 km/kg for highway cruising.

The upcoming Kwid CNG is anticipated to give a mileage of around 35 km/kg. All set to be introduced with a seating capacity of 5 people in a layout of 2-3; changes in the next generation are certain as it is set to be on different platforms. We expect that it will be around 3.9 metres longer and features a boot space of around 400 litres that helps in carrying 2 big pieces of luggage.

Next-Gen Renault Triber CNG

The next-generation Renault Triber CNG is expected to be available for sale in the Indian market during the festive season, meaning its launch may happen in late October 2026. As of now, there’s no word from the makers about its price; we expect that it will cost ex-showroom ₹6.7 lakh and ₹9.5 lakh. The upcoming model may give a mileage of around 32 km/kg.

It is very unlikely that it will get any dimensional upgrade; the length, width and height are expected to remain the same as the outgoing model. It is highly anticipated that they will launch it with both a seating capacity of 5 people in a 2-3 layout and 7 individuals in a 2-3-2. The 5-seater will feature small boot space, while the 7-seater will feature a large one.

The next-generation Renault Kiger CNG is expected to retail between ₹7.5 lakh and ₹11.8 lakh; the carmaker is yet to confirm the launch date. There’s a high speculation that they will launch it in India by late 2026. All specifications and features are still pending; we are anticipating that its mileage will be around 30 km/kg, better than the existing model.

The length, width and height are expected to be 3,991 mm, 1,750 mm and 1,605 mm, respectively, the same as the existing model, as they are set to introduce the car under the sub-4-metre segment. The boot space is likely to be above 450 litres, and ground clearance may be 220 mm, which is ideal for Indian road conditions to pass the potholes and speed breakers easily.
