Toyota India 2026–27: 5 New SUVs From ₹18 Lakh – e-Bella to Fortuner
The Japanese automaker Toyota is all set to launch five new SUV models for the Indian market, which include hybrid and electric vehicles. The list includes the Toyota Urban Cruiser e-Bella, the 7-seater Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, the next-generation Toyota Fortuner, the 9th-generation Toyota Hilux, and the affordable Toyota Innova Hycross Hybrid. Let’s have a closer look at them.

Toyota Urban Cruiser e-Bella

The Toyota Urban Cruiser e-Bella, an all-electric compact SUV, whose Indian debut is expected in May 2026 in three variants: E1, E2, and E3. Its ex-showroom price may start from ₹18 lakh and go up to ₹25 lakh. Comes with a single-motor front-wheel drive configuration with two LFP battery pack options, which are 49 kWh and 62 kWh.
The ARAI-certified range for standard and larger battery packs is 440 km and 543 km, respectively. The 49 kWh variant produces 149 hp, while the 61 kWh version delivers 172 hp, and the peak torque for both is 189 Nm. Supports a DC charger up to 70 kW, which takes 40-45 minutes for the 10-80% charging.
7-Seater Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder
The 7-seater Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder is a hybrid three-row mid-size SUV. Its launch for the Indian market is expected during the festive season, probably in October 2026. The carmaker will reveal the price around the launch, but highly expects it to be between ₹16.5 lakh and ₹22.5 lakh. It will feature a longer wheelbase compared to a 5-seater.
The powertrain is expected to be the same as the 5-seater, which comes with a 1.5L Strong Hybrid featuring a 1.5-litre 3-cylinder TNGA (Atkinson Cycle) petrol engine and an electric motor with a lithium-ion battery that has a combined power output of 116 hp; and a 1.5L Mild Hybrid featuring a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder K15C petrol and ISG with a 12V battery, which generates the power of 103 hp.
Next-Generation Toyota Fortuner
The next-generation Toyota Fortuner is a full-size five-door ladder-frame SUV whose launch is expected in early 2027. Reportedly, it will be available for sale with ex-showroom prices starting from ₹38 lakh. Its Indian launch may have two engine options that are 2.8L 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel and a 2.7L 4-cylinder naturally aspirated.
The former will feature a 48V mild hybrid with the integrated starter generator, whose expected power output is 201 hp and peak torque is 500 Nm; its transmission options may be 6-speed MT and 6-speed torque converter AT, and the latter won’t have a hybrid system, which generates the power of 164 hp and peak torque of 245 Nm; its transmission option may be 5-speed MT and 6-speed AT.
9th Generation Toyota Hilux
The 9th Generation Toyota Hilux is expected to be introduced in the Indian market in late 2026 with the ex-showroom price from ₹32 lakh to ₹42 lakh. India’s launch is expected to happen with both mild-hybrid and fully electric. Its length, width, and height are 5,325 mm, 1,855 mm, and 1,815 mm, respectively; its wheelbase is 3,085 mm, and its ground clearance is 220 mm.
The mild-hybrid will get a 2.8 L turbo diesel and 48V system, whose power output is 204 hp and peak torque is 500 Nm; the fully electric comes with a 59.2 kWh lithium-ion battery that gives the NEDC range of 315 km. It generates the power of 196 hp and a peak torque of 473 Nm. Notably, the vehicle with both powertrains comes with an AWD drivetrain.
Affordable Toyota Innova Hycross Hybrid

The affordable Toyota Innova Hycross Hybrid will be introduced in the Indian market in late 2026, replacing the Innova Crysta. The expected ex-showroom price is ₹23.50 to ₹24.80 lakh. It will come with the 2.0L 4-cylinder VVT-i (Atkinson cycle) petrol engine with the 5th Gen self-charging strong hybrid system, which generates the power of 184 hp.
It features a front-wheel drive configuration and an electronic continuous variable transmission. Its mileage is expected to be 23.24 kmpl, and with the fuel tank of 52 litres, it will feature a 1208.42 km range if the tank is full. Comes with a seating capacity of seven people in a layout of 2-2-3 with a captain’s seat featuring a headset in the middle row and eight people in a layout of 2-3-3.
