Tata Tiago & Tiago EV Facelift Launching May 28 - New Look From ₹5 Lakh

Tata Motors has now officially confirmed that they are going to launch the facelift of the Tiago and Tiago EV on May 28, 2026. Prior to the launch, the Indian automobile manufacturer has revealed its exterior by releasing the official images. The interior upgrades are still undisclosed; they are all set to reveal it with the launch. Let’s have a closer look at the exterior of the newly revealed facelifts.

The Tiago, which is powered by an internal combustion engine, gets eyebrow-style LED DRLs and sharp headlights that add a modern touch to front-end lighting, a black front grille for a sportier look, pixel-style fog lamps that add a futuristic touch to the lower section, and an aggressive bumper with a large air intake for cooling.

On the sides, it gets aero-optimised new alloy wheels in a modern pattern with black wheel arches cladding to enhance the side view; retains mechanical door handles for practicality; and has blacked-out ORVMs (outside rear-view mirrors) with the integrated side lights.

The rear gets full-width LED taillights with Tata’s logo at the centre, creating a wide stance and reflecting the brand identity. The tailgate features ‘TIAGO’ lettering, a roof-integrated spoiler to reduce drag, and a revised bumper with a sharper cut that enhances its look. It has a hidden exhaust for an uncluttered back view.

On the other hand, the Tiago EV, which comes with an all-electric powertrain, now gets a body-coloured, closed-off grille that enhances its aerodynamics and gives better performance; the front-end lighting, i.e., LED daylight running lights and main headlights, are the same as its ICE counterpart. It has cleaners and a smooth bumper with small air vents for battery cooling, and it doesn’t have any fog light.

Its side profile and rear view are the same as the traditional Tiago’s. Notably, there’s no change in the size; both are also identical in terms of dimensions. Its length is 3,765 mm, width is 1,677 mm, height is 1,535 mm, wheelbase is 2,400 mm and ground clearance is 163 mm. It comes with the seating capacity of 5 people in a layout of 2-3, and the boot space for both ICE and electric vehicles is 242 litres.

The ICE vehicle is all set to retain the same powertrain; it comes with a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated 3-cylinder petrol engine. It comes with two gearbox options that are 5-speed AMT and 5-speed manual. The CNG powertrain may also be retained; notably, it gets the same engine as pure petrol but is available with only a 5-speed manual transmission option.

The pure petrol one’s maximum power output is 86 hp and peak torque is 113 Nm, but the CNG generates the peak power and torque of 75.5 hp and 96.5 Nm, respectively. Both powertrains are offered with a front-wheel drive configuration.

And the EV is expected to be introduced with the large battery; however, there’s no official confirmation regarding it. Notably, the existing model is available with two LFP battery packs that are 19.2 kWh and 24 kWh, whose ARAI-certified range is 223 km and 293 km, respectively.

It comes with a single permanent magnet synchronous motor on the front wheel featuring FWD drivetrain; it uses the single-speed automatic transmission. The power output and peak torque with the standard battery pack are 61 hp and 110 Nm, respectively, but with the larger one, it generates the maximum power of 75 hp and peak torque of 114 Nm.

The carmaker hasn’t revealed the pricing; it is expected the Tiago and Tiago EV will be available with the ex-showroom price between ₹5 lakh and ₹9 lakh, and ₹10 lakh and ₹13 lakh, respectively. Following the launch, the ICE vehicle will compete with the Maruti Suzuki Celerio and Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, and the EV with the Citroen eC3 and MG Comet EV.
