Simple Energy, the Indian electric vehicle manufacturer, has officially confirmed that they will introduce a family-friendly electric scooter on September 22, 2026; they haven’t yet revealed the nameplate. Reports suggest that the upcoming two-wheeler is set to be known by the name Simple Arrive, because this is the name the manufacturer has trademarked in India.
They already have patented the design of this upcoming electric scooter, and its test mules have already been spotted testing with camouflage; however, after multiple sightings and patented image leaks, it already reveals many details about its design. Upfront, it is set to get a minimalist front with a dual-chamber LED headlamp, a wide mudguard, and a sleek LED daylight running light.
The long and flat single-piece seat is clearly visible from the side in the spy shots; they have soft-touch upholstery to ensure better seating comfort not only for occupants but also for the pillion. For the rider, it has a large footbar to enhance practicality, which can also be used for carrying luggage. For the pillion’s leg support, it features foldable footpegs. A stand in the center and side helps in parking the scooter.
The patent image shows back support for the pillion behind the seat and a grab rail; although the test mule only has grab rails, it is yet to be seen if the production model comes with back support or not. The back is set to get slim horizontal LED taillamps to enhance the nighttime visibility of the scooter with integrated blinkers to hint at the next move to other road users.
Between the handlebars, i.e., just before the eyes of the rider, it will have a digital TFT instrument cluster showing all the riding-related information. The display will feature various connected tech with over-the-air software updates. Set to support Bluetooth connectivity, featuring turn-by-turn navigation and music and SMS control.
The USB charging port for fast phone charging convenience is also expected. Notably, it will have a boot space of around 30 liters under the seat, which will help in keeping two helmets or carrying small luggage. The frunk (front storage trunk) behind the apron is also available, as seen in the spotting image, which also helps with small items.
As of now, Simple Energy is selling three pure-electric scooters, which are the Simple One, Simple OneS, and Simple Ultra. The first one is available for sale with the ex-showroom price of ₹169,999 and ₹194,999 for the 4.5 kWh and 5 kWh lithium-ion battery packs, respectively.
The second one is available with an ex-showroom price of ₹171,999, which has a 3.7 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, and the third one costs ex-showroom ₹234,999 with a 6.5 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The upcoming one, Arrive, is expected to borrow its powertrain from the OneS, which gets a 3.7 kWh LFP battery and gives the IDC range of 190 kilometers.
The Arrive may also get a mid-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor with a belt drive drivetrain, whose power output is expected to be 6.5 kW and peak torque is anticipated to be around 52 Nm. It may reach a maximum speed of 90 km/h and can accelerate from 0 to 40 km/h in 3.0 seconds.
Notably, the launch date is still undisclosed. We are expecting that the market launch in the Indian market will take place within a month after the unveiling, and delivery will start shortly. It is set to be positioned as a rival to the TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, and Ather Rizta, so the ex-showroom price of around ₹1.3 lakh is anticipated.
