Triumph Bonneville 400 Spied Undisguised Ahead Of India Launch

Triumph Motorcycles, the British premium motorcycle manufacturer, is all set to launch the Triumph Bonneville 400, a retro-modern motorcycle, which will make its debut in the Indian market in the second half of 2026. Prior to that, it had been spotted testing on public roads multiple times.

Once again its spy shots of the near-production test mules are floating, but this time it is totally undisguised and has revealed many details about its look. Up front, it gets round-shaped LED headlights to give it its retro-modern touch and a large mudguard to block debris and protect the rider’s clothing from getting dirty.

In profile, it gets flat bench-style seating with soft-touch upholstery so the rider and pillion both sit comfortably; a wire-spoke wheel to ensure it absorbs the shock efficiently and gives an ideal riding experience even on tough terrain; a large fuel tank; rounded side panels that enhance it; and blacked-out engine covers and exhaust that enhance the side view.

The rear gets rounded fenders with slim LED taillamps to make the bike visible from the back to other vehicles running on the road, and it also enhances the rear aesthetic. Below the taillamps, LED side indicators are visible to hint to the driver behind about the next move, and the end of the seat gets a grab rail to help the pillion sit safely by grabbing it.

The Bonneville 400 is built on a modified TR-series steel tubular frame with the new swingarm; its front suspension is conventional telescopic forks, and the rear is twin shock absorbers. Both wheels get disc brakes with a double-channel anti-locking braking system to ensure the wheels don’t get locked during sudden braking.

Its features are yet to be unveiled. The manufacturer may introduce it with a semi-digital instrument cluster showing all the driving data. May also feature wireless connectivity via Bluetooth and show turn-by-turn navigation via the My Triumph Connectivity system.

A USB charging port is also expected for phone charging convenience, a ride-by-wire throttle for precise acceleration, and switchable traction control to help in preventing the rear wheel slip and assisting a slipper clutch below with lighter clutch lever effort and smoother gear changes.

Dimensions are still pending. It is anticipated to be longer than the Speed 400; we are expecting that it will be longer than 2.1 meters with a wheelbase of around 1.45 meters to ensure it provides better stability at high speeds. Its ground clearance may be 170 mm, a good ride height for Indian road conditions.

A seat height of 800 mm is likely to give a comfortable riding position, and kerb weight may be around 180 kg, slightly heavier, but experienced riders may handle it conveniently on all types of terrain.

Expected to be a 349cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, 4-stroke, DOHC petrol-powered internal combustion engine that may be mated with a six-speed manual transmission in the pattern of 1 down and 5 ups, featuring a chain-drive drivetrain.

The engine will have an EFI system and liquid cooling, which are likely to generate power up to 40 bhp and peak torque of 37.5 Nm. Its acceleration timing from 0 to 100 km/h is anticipated to be under 4 seconds, and the top speed may go up to 150 km/h. Fuel efficiency may be around 30 kmph.

Following the launch, it will compete with the Royal Enfield Classic 350, Honda CB350, Jawa 350, and Royal Enfield Bullet 350. Details regarding the price are still pending; we are expecting that it will cost ex-showroom between ₹2.00 lakh and ₹2.5 lakh.
