On June 17, 2026, the MINI, a British premium small-car brand owned by BMW Group, launched the Mini Countryman C with the ex-showroom price of ₹47.50 lakh. Its main rivals in India are the BMW X1, the Mercedes-Benz GLA and the Audi Q3. The Countryman C is locally assembled at the BMW Group plant in Chennai; compared to the Mini Countryman JCW All4, which they introduced as a CBU, this car is ₹18.65 lakh cheaper.
The locally assembled Countryman C is built on the UKL2 (Untere Klasse 2) platform, featuring an FWD configuration with a transverse-engine monocoque and electric power steering for easier steering even at low speed. The front and rear suspensions are MacPherson strut and multi-link independent, respectively. The disc manages braking for all wheels, which not only provides strong braking power but also absorbs the heat efficiently.
Under the hood, it gets a 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol-powered internal combustion engine that is mated with the 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The ICE generates the maximum power of 156 hp and peak torque of 240 Nm, which helps this car to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 9 seconds. It can reach a maximum speed of 215 kmph and has an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 15.92 kmpl.

This car from MINI measures 4,447 mm in length, 1,843 mm in width and 1,661 mm in length. Available with a seating capacity of 5 people in a 2-3 layout, thanks to a wheelbase of 2,692 mm, three occupants in the rear seats get ample legroom to sit comfortably. Behind the rear seats, there’s a boot space of 505 l that helps in carrying up to three big pieces of luggage; it can be extended up to 1,450 litres by folding the rear seats if only two individuals are travelling.
The ground clearance of 190 mm is good enough to easily pass potholes and speed breakers, and a fuel tank of 60 litres gives a range of 955.2 kilometres. The rear seat sliding range is 130 mm, but the maximum recline is 25 degrees, and the turning cycle is 11.2 metres. It sits on 19-inch double-tone alloy wheels, which also give it tough road presence. Available with five different exterior colour options: Chilli Red, Smokey Green, British Racing Green, Nanuq White, and Slate Blue.
Outside, it features an octagonal-shaped grille; adaptive main LED headlights; customisable LED daylight running lights; a body silhouette; flush-type door handles; wheel arch cladding; roof rails; electrically adjustable and foldable outside rear-view mirrors with integrated side indicators; Matrix vertical LED tail lamps with a wheelbase and a goodbye animation; a wide tailgate with MINI lettering; and a champagne gold-coloured skid plate on the bumpers.

Inside, it features a fabric-wrapped dual-tone dashboard, slim air-conditioning vents, a new-generation steering wheel with physical buttons for controls, and a circular design theme. The centre of the dashboard is equipped with a 9.4-inch circular OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) touchscreen integrated with a Harman Kardon 12-speaker premium sound system, which acts as both an infotainment system and a digital instrument cluster for the driver.
The screen runs on MINI Operating System 9, featuring over-the-air software updates; connected car technology and navigation; voice command; and wireless connectivity via Bluetooth and Android Auto & Apple CarPlay for audio and video streaming. Front seats feature Vescion upholstery; they are also electronically adjustable via a button visible on the door, and the driver’s seat has a massage function too.
Other notable features are the head-up display, which projects the driving data on the windscreen; double-zone climate control, which helps in setting the temperature for the driver and co-passenger differently; the wireless charging pad on the centre console, which helps in charging the phone conventionally; ambient lighting, which enhances the mood; the panoramic sunroof, which adds premiumness to the cabin and also makes it airy; and the ADAS suite, with five smart features which make the driving almost stress-free.
