Maruti Suzuki, the Indian automobile manufacturer, is all set to increase the ex-showroom price for different models by ₹30,000 because of the higher production cost due to rising raw material prices, such as steel, aluminum, copper, and plastics; higher logistics and transportation expenses; and increased manufacturing and operational costs, including energy and supplier costs.
The carmaker is yet to reveal how much price increase the different models will see. As of now, they are selling ten models via Arena, a mass-market dealership network, including Alto K10, S-Presso, Celerio, WagonR, Swift, Dzire, Brezza, Ertiga, Eeco, and Victoris; and nine under Nexa, a premium dealership network, including Ignis, Baleno, Fronx, Ciaz, Grand Vitara, Jimny, XL6, Invicto and e Vitara.
Reportedly, each model under the Arena and Nexa lineup will see a price increase, although they are yet to reveal the amount each model will see. The most affordable passenger vehicle that Maruti Suzuki is selling in the Indian market is the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10. It is available for sale for ₹3.70 lakh to ₹5.45 lakh. If the base variant gets a price hike of ₹30,000, then it will cost starting from ₹4 lakh.
In June 2026, Maruti Suzuki sold 147,187 units in June 2026. On a MoM basis, their sales have decreased by 43,150 units, registering a growth of 22.7%; but on the YoY basis, the sales have increased by 28,281 units, registering a growth of 23.8%. The price hike in August 2026 is anticipated to affect the sales numbers; however, it is yet to be seen how much price increase each model will get.
Notably, among the 19 models they are selling in the market, including both lineups, Arena and Nexa, only one is available as an EV. The model is the Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara, which costs ex-showroom starting from ₹15.99 lakh for the Delta. It is available in a total of four variants. The other three are Zeta, Alpha, and Alpha Dual Tone, with ex-showroom prices of ₹17.49 lakh, ₹19.79 lakh, and ₹20.01 lakh, respectively.
It is most likely that each variant will get a maximum price hike of ₹30,000. From August 2026, the only electric vehicle from Maruti Suzuki is expected to be available with an ex-showroom price between ₹16.19 lakh and ₹20.31 lakh. It has been available for sale in the Indian market since February 17, 2026, and till now, they have sold 7,097 units as of May 2026.
In May 2026, they sold only 1,439. Maruti Suzuki is yet to reveal how many units they have sold in June 2026. Notably, compared to the April 2026 sale, it was 567 fewer, registering a month-on-month degrowth of 39.4%. The decline pattern is also expected for June 2026; after the price hike, its sales may decrease more because alternatives from Tata are already available at a very affordable cost.
In the Nexa lineup, the most costly passenger vehicle is the Maruti Suzuki Invicto, a three-row premium multi-purpose vehicle, which is available with an ex-showroom price between ₹24.97 lakh and ₹28.61 lakh. The price for this model is also expected to increase. But it is unlikely that all variants will get a hike. The standard one is expected to see a price hike of ₹30,000 and may cost ₹25.27 lakh.
In the last three months, this is the second price hike from the company. Notably, they aren’t only increasing the price for the different models, but also reducing them for a few. In early July 2026, Maruti Suzuki reduced the price for the Victoris, a mid-size SUV under the Arena lineup, by ₹39,000 and ₹32,500 for petrol manual transmission and petrol automatic gearbox, respectively.
