The Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer Li Auto has launched the 2026 Li Auto L9, a full-size extended-range electric family SUV, in the domestic market on May 15, 2026, in two variants that are Ultra and Livis with the prices of 459,800 CNY (64 lakh INR) and 509,800 CNY (70 lakh INR), respectively.

The new model comes with 800-volt active suspension, full wire-controlled chassis, steer-by-wire and electromechanical braking. Its main competitors in China are Aito M9, Yangwang U8, Nio ES8, Denza N9 and Tesla Model X. Let’s have a closer look.

The interior features a seating capacity of 6 people in a 2-2-2 layout. All seats are made up of nappa leather, featuring premium comfort foam cushioning. The front row gets individual seats for the driver and passenger, the second row features a captain’s seat featuring armrests and a leg rest, and the third row is a bench.

Each row seat is electronically adjustable and comes with the heating system, but the first two row seats also feature ventilation, a massage function, a hot-stone massage function, and powered reclining. The third seat comes with USB-C charging ports, cupholders, reclining seats, dedicated AC vents, and individual reading lamps for convenience.

On the dashboard, there’s a 29-inch ultra-wide 6K display, instead of two separate ones, that acts as both an infotainment system and digital instrument cluster. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8797 Elite chip, whose computing power is 320 TOPS with the refresh rate of 90 Hz, which makes the user experience too smooth and gives the premium feel.

There’s also a large touchscreen for the entertainment of rear seating passengers, which supports voice assistance. To ensure an immersive sound experience, it features the ‘Immaculate Star Ring Theatre’ sound system, whose output is 5,440W. Other notable features are ambient lighting, wireless charging pads and tri-zone climate control.

To make the driving autonomous and stress-free, it comes with a head-up display that projects the driving data on the windscreen. Interestingly, it gets four-LiDAR intelligent driving data with two 5 nm ‘Mach 100’ chips, whose computing power is 2560 TOPS, thanks to which the car features NOA for both highway cruising and city driving.

Its exterior measures 5255 mm in length, 2000 mm in width and 1810 mm in height. Features a wheelbase, the distance between the front and rear wheel, of 3125 mm. Upfront, it features signature full-width ‘Star Ring’ LED daylight running lights, ADB (Adaptive Driving Beam) matrix headlights, and active lower air intakes for cooling the engine.

In profile, it features flush-type door handles that not only improve efficiency but also add premiumness and 22-inch alloy wheels for the bold road presence. At the rear, it gets a full-width LED taillight bar, creating a wide stance to enhance the rear look; a clean tailgate design, adding a premium touch; and an integrated roof spoiler, improving stability at high speed.

Get a third-generation self-developed 1.5-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine under the hood, whose power output is 115 kW (157 hp). It is equipped with two electric motors, one on each axle, featuring an all-wheel drive configuration. The combined power output is 420 kW (563 hp), and peak torque is 710 Nm (523.7 lb-ft), which helps it accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds.

Equipped with the 72.7 kWh LFP battery pack, whose only-electric range on the China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle is 420 km, the overall (full battery and full tank) range is 1,650 km. Supports a DC charger up to 420 kW, which charges the vehicle from 10 to 80 per cent in just 10 minutes. When the battery is low, it gives a mileage of 6.3 litres per 100 km.
