Chery will soon launch the vehicle in India under the banner JSW-Chery Motor India, a joint venture between JSW and Chery, although the official confirmation is still awaited. The Chinese automobile manufacturer has already patented dozens of vehicles in India, as of now. Recently, they have patented three more models, which are the Fulwin X3L, the Lepas L4, and the Exeed Exlantix ES7 GT.
Notably, the first one is an extended-range electric sport utility vehicle, the second is a compact internal combustion engine sport utility vehicle, and the third is an extended-range electric shooting brake. Let’s have a closer look at each of these three upcoming cars that they have patented recently.
Fulwin X3L – An EREV SUV
The Fulwin X3L is available for sale in the Chinese market from September 11, 2026, under the banner Fulwin, a subsidiary of Chery, which makes new energy vehicles. In India, it may be known as the JSW-Chery X3L, costing an ex-showroom price between ₹18 and ₹25 lakh. In China, as an EREV, it gets a 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol-powered ICE, which generates the maximum power of 154 hp and peak torque of 220 Nm.
Chery sells it in the domestic market with rear-wheel drive, which gets PMSM with a one-speed automatic gearbox at the rear axle that generates the power of 248 hp and peak torque of 300 Nm; and the all-wheel-drive version gets PMSM with a single-speed automatic gearbox at the rear axle and IM at the front axle, and they combined deliver 422 hp power and 505 Nm torque.
The AWD variant takes 4.7 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h, and the maximum speed is 170 km/h. Notably, its length, width, height, wheelbase, and ground clearance are 4,545 mm, 1,950 mm, 1,815 mm, 2,783 mm, and 225 mm, respectively. The fuel tank capacity is 45 litres, and boot space is 450 litres, which is expandable to 1,238 litres.
Lepas L4 – An ICE SUV
After parenting the all-electric version of Lepas L4, now Chery has patented the ICE counterpart of the same in India. Notably, the Lepas is also a subsidiary of Chery, which is a widely known global passenger vehicle brand. In India, it made its debut as JSW-Chery L4. The length is 4,406 mm, width is 1,820 mm, height is 1,635 mm, wheelbase is 2,700 mm, and ground clearance is 160 mm.
In China, it is sold with two 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol-powered internal combustion engines, which are naturally aspirated and turbocharged. The former is mated with a five-speed manual transmission, which generates the maximum power of 145 hp and peak torque of 148 Nm; the latter one is bolted with a 6-speed dual-clutch gearbox that delivers 145 hp power and 225 Nm peak torque.
Exeed Exlantix ES7 GT – An EREV Shooting Brake
At the 2025 Guangzhou Auto Show, the Exeed Exlantix ES7 GT makes its global debut. The Exeed, a premium and luxury automotive brand of Chery Automobile, will launch and start delivery in August 2026. As Chery has also patented it in India, they may introduce it as the JSW-Chery Exlantix ES7 GT, which measures 4,945 mm in length, 1,930 mm in width, and 2,925 mm in height.
It is built on 1,000-volt electrical architecture, which gets a 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol-powered ICE under the hood that acts as a generator to power the motor. Its acceleration timing for 0 to 100 km/h is 3 seconds; the combined driving range is 1,700 km. It supports ultra-fast charging, which adds an EV range of 450 km in 5 minutes.
On the front axle, it gets an IM and two PMSMs, one on each wheel, with single-speed automatic transmission. The setup makes an all-wheel-drive vehicle. Reportedly, it is equipped with the Falcon 700 intelligent driving system that works with 27 sensors, including roof-mounted LiDAR and fender cameras, featuring city and highway navigation and autopilot.
