As per an exclusive report from Autocar India, Audi India, the Indian subsidiary of the German luxury automobile manufacturer Audi AG, is all set to launch three models in the Indian market by 2027. They are the third-generation Audi Q3, Audi A5, and Audi Q9. Notably, of the three, not a single one is coming as a completely built unit.
Reports suggest that the carmaker will import these models as completely knocked down and assemble them at the Skoda Auto Volkswagen India plant in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, and sell them locally at competitive pricing. Let’s have a closer look at each of these models coming to India.
Third-generation Audi Q3
Launch Date: August 2026, Ex-showroom price: ₹60 lakh
The third-generation Audi Q3, a compact luxury SUV, which made its global debut on June 16, 2025, after one of them is finally coming to India to take on the BMW X1, Mercedes-Benz GLA, and Volvo XC40. In the internal market, it is available for sale as pure-petrol, pure-diesel, mild-hybrid, and plug-in hybrid. In India, it will make its debut with a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol-powered ICE, whose displacement is 1,984 cc.
The internal combustion engine is set to be mated with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. The maximum power output is 204 hp and peak torque is 320 Nm, with the Quattro all-wheel-drive drivetrain. Features 5 people seating in 2-3 arrangements, which have a boot space of 488 liters. The rear seat features 40:20:40 split-folding; folding the second-row seats enhances the boot space to 1,386 liters.
The length is 4,531 mm, width is 1,859 mm without mirrors and 2,087 mm with mirrors, and height ranges from 1,588 mm to 1,623 mm, depending on the wheel size and suspension setup. The cabin is set to get an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment with wireless connectivity. It will also get three-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, and powered front seats.
Audi A5
Launch Date: February 2027, Ex-showroom Price: ₹70 lakh
The premium midsize sedan Audi A5 replaced the A4 in the brand’s global lineup, whose global unveiling took place on July 16, 2024. It is based on Audi’s new Premium Platform Combustion architecture featuring a front-wheel-drive drivetrain. The carmaker is all set to position this sedan as a rival to the BMW 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, and Volvo S60. In the internal market, it is sold as pure petrol, pure diesel, and mild hybrid.
Its Indian debut will happen as a pure petrol, getting a 1,984 cc 2.0-liter TFSI turbo-petrol internal combustion engine, which is mated with a 7-speed S tronic dual-clutch automatic. It generates the power of 204 hp and peak torque of 340 Nm. It also comes with a five-person seating capacity in a 2-3 layout, but its boot space behind the second-row seats is 445 liters, which can be expanded to 1,299 liters.
It is 4,829 mm longer; 1,860 mm wider without mirrors and 2,099 mm with mirrors; and 1,444 mm taller. Its wheelbase is 2,892 mm. The cabin gets an 11.9-inch Audi Virtual Cockpit under the steering wheel and a 14.5-inch OLED infotainment touchscreen infotainment system at the center of the dashboard. It also has a 10.9-inch passenger display before the driver’s seat for the co-passenger.
Audi Q9
Launch Date: Second half of 2027, Ex-showroom price: ₹1.40 crore
The Audi Q9 global debut takes place on July 29, 2026. It is also based on the Premium Platform Combustion platform, which is positioned as Audi’s flagship full-size luxury SUV. It is a three-row sport utility vehicle that features a seating capacity of 6 people in a 2-2-2 layout with two captain’s chairs in the center and 7 individuals in a 2-3-2 configuration.
The sale of this SUV from Audi will begin in Europe in November 2026. In India, it is set to compete with the Mercedes-Benz GLS, BMW X7, Land Rover Range Rover, Lexus LX, and Volvo XC90 following the Indian market launch. Under the hood, it gets a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 petrol-powered internal combustion engine, whose displacement is 2,995 cc.
The ICE generates a maximum power of 2,995 cc and peak torque of 367 hp. The transmission option is an 8-speed automatic, and the drivetrain is Quattro all-wheel drive. It features a 48V mild hybrid to improve fuel efficiency. To sprint from a dash to 100 kmph, it takes 6 seconds and is capable of reaching a top speed of 250 kmph.
