Tata Motors is one of the leading automobile manufacturers in India; currently they are selling nine models under the internal combustion engine lineup and seven in battery electric. The sale figures for July 2026 are now made public. Notably, 7 EVs that are on sale in India under the banner of Tata are those that the carmaker has diverted from their ICE counterparts.
In the month of July, they sold 62,611 units, including ICE and battery electric vehicles. Compared to the same month of the previous year, the sale has increased by 23,090, registering a year-on-year growth of 58.42%. The vehicles available in the ICE lineup are Punch, Nexon, Tiago, Sierra, Harrier, Tigor, Curvv, Altroz, and Safari. Among them, all are also on sale as BEVs, except the last two.
The best seller from Tata Motors is the Punch, including both powertrains: ICE and battery electric. In July 2026, a total of 21,313 units were dispatched; there’s no data on powertrain-wise sales, as they have released the combined figures. On a year-on-year basis, it has increased by 10,528 units, registering a growth of 97.62%. Of the total sales in July 2026, it has a share of 34.04%.
Reportedly, out of 62,611 units, 15,055 sales are for pure-electric models. Compared to the June 2026 sale of EVs from Tata Motors, it has registered 2.7% month-on-month growth with an increase of 398 units. In the last few months, the sale of battery-electric models from Tata Motors has seen significant growth thanks to the launch of the Tiago EV facelift and the Sierra EV.
In the future, the sale of EVs under the banner of Tata will see more growth, as very soon they are going to launch the Tigor EV facelift and Safari EV. After which the one model from the carmaker that will be left with only an internal combustion engine is the Altroz. On a year-on-year basis, out of 9 models, 5 have registered growth, 3 have declined, and the one remaining, Safari, launched in November 2025.
Following the market launch in India, its delivery began in December 2025. Since then, a total of 50,038 has been delivered, including 291 in December, 7,003 in January, 7,100 in February, 9,003 in March, 7,316 in April, 6,606 in May, 6,392 in June, and 6,327 in July. To achieve the milestone of 50,000 deliveries, it took a total of 7 months.
The Tata models that registered year-on-year growth in July 2026 are Punch, Nexon, Tiago, Harrier, and Safari, with 10,528 units and 97.62%; 4,646 units and 36.23%; 1,854 units and 33.26%; 1,085 units and 48.96%; and 211 units and 16.99%, respectively. Those that recorded a decline are the Altroz with 1,043 units and 26.71%; the Curvv with 308 units and 15.36%; and the 210 units with 21.69%.
In June 2026, the domestic sales figures for Tata Motors passenger vehicles were 62,076; on a month-on-month basis, the delivery had increased by 535 units, registering 0.86% growth.
