Updated Deepal S05 to Enter Pre-Sale on July 30 With LiDAR and New 3nm Cockpit Chip

Deepal, Changan Automobile’s NEV brand, is all set to start the pre-sale for the updated Deepal S05, a compact electric sport utility vehicle, on July 30, 2026, announcing the tentative price. The market launch is expected to take place in August 2026, and then delivery will begin. As of now, there’s no update on the price between 120,000 yuan and 125,000 yuan (₹14.3 lakh to ₹14.9 lakh).

Following the launch, it will strengthen its positioning against the Leapmotor B10, the Geely Galaxy E5, and the BYD Sealion 05. The carmaker has made many upgrades to the revamped version of the exciting Deepal S05; they are

  • Light Detection and Ranging on the roof for more advanced intelligent driving and assisted-driving capabilities, which makes it semi-autonomous and stress-free.
  • Features blue intelligent driving indicator lights on the exterior, which indicate that the assisted-driving function is active.
  • Replacing the old one, it now gets a new 3 nm smart cockpit chip, which ensures faster infotainment performance, quicker app loading, a more responsive voice assistant, and a smoother user interface and graphics.

Besides these upgrades, this vehicle remains the same. There are no changes to its dimensions. It is 4,620 mm longer with a 2,880 mm wheelbase, 1,900 mm wider, and 1,600 mm taller. Its front and rear track widths are 1,620 mm and 1,630 mm, respectively. Available with 5 people seating capacity, which has a boot space of 464 liters. 

The carmaker will introduce the model as a battery electric vehicle and an extended-range electric vehicle. The BEV gets a permanent magnet synchronous motor on the front axle, which is mated with a one-speed automatic reduction gearbox. It produces 200 kW (272 hp) of power and a peak torque of 320 Nm (236 lb-ft). Features a top speed of 180 km/h. 

It comes with a 56.12 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack, giving the CLTC range of 520 km, and the option of a 68.82 kWh battery pack will also be available, which is set to run 610 km. Built on the 400-volt electrical architecture, which supports DC chargers up to 168 kW and 200 kW for standard and large battery packs, respectively, it takes 15 minutes for 30 to 80 percent charging.

The EREV gets all that is available from the BEV on the rear axle, but it generates the power of 160 kW (218 hp); its peak torque is the same as the battery electric vehicle version. Its maximum speed is 175 kmph, 5 kmpl less than the BEV. It also has a 27.28 kWh LFP battery pack, which gives it a CLTC range of 200 km. 

Its electrical architecture is also 400 volts but supports DC chargers only up to 69 kW, which takes 20 minutes for 30 to 80 percent charging. Under the hood, it gets a 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbocharged petrol-powered internal combustion engine that acts as a generator. 

It comes with a fuel tank of 45 liters; when the battery pack is depleted, it gives 4.35 liters per 100 km of fuel efficiency. When the fuel tank is full, it gives a range of 1034 km. Notably, the combined range, when the battery pack is fully charged and even the fuel tank is full, gives a 1,234 km range.

Inside, it has a 15.4-inch 2.5K floating central touchscreen at the center of the dashboard supporting a voice assistant with AI voice control and OTA software updates, and a 55-inch augmented reality head-up display instead of a traditional digital instrument cluster, which projects all the driving data on the windshield.
