Toyota, the Japanese automobile manufacturer, has finally brought the next-generation Toyota Hilux, a pickup truck, to India. Recently, it was spotted during the television commercial shoot, hinting at its launch in the Indian market. Interestingly, it is the same as the model that is already on sale in the international market. The spotting has revealed what its exterior looks like; let’s have a closer look at its whole outside body.
Outside, it gets a honeycomb grille for cooling of the engine; slim LED headlights with integrated daylight running lights giving a modern touch; Toyota lettering below the hood reflecting the brand identity; faux side vents for styling; bumper cladding with a skid plate adding ruggedness; mechanical door handles ensuring better practicality; squared wheel arches and cladding adding SUV characteristics; and blacked-out outside rear view mirrors enhancing the in-profile view and also helping in seeing the traffic behind.
Other notable features in its exterior are large alloy wheels with all-terrain tires that ensure better grip on all types of roads; a roof-mounted shark-fin antenna is visible from the back, reflecting its features of connected car technology; C-shaped taillights enhance the rear look at night; a rugged bumper with black cladding gives it a bold rear profile; a black sail panel ensures better airflow; a large cargo bed helps in carrying the big luggage conventionally; and a downward-opening tailgate helps easy loading and unloading.

The model is sold globally and comes with a seating capacity of 5 people in 2-3 layouts. Inside, it is equipped with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster under the steering wheel and a same-size touchscreen infotainment system, integrating a nine-speaker JBL premium sound system, at the center of the dashboard, which supports over-the-air software updates, connected car tech, and wired connectivity via Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Bluetooth for video and audio streaming.
Both front seats are ventilated, and the driver’s seat is electrically adjustable in eight ways. Seating features thick upholstery for better cushioning that results in improved comfort for occupants and dual-zone automatic climate control, meaning the driver and co-passenger can set different temperatures depending on comfort. For phone charging, it gets a wireless charging pad at the center console and USB ports in the second row.

For the safety of occupants, it comes with an advanced driving assistant system with many smart features such as adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, a 360° camera, and much more. Other notable interior features are auto-dimming inside the rear-view window to give a clear view of the vehicle behind, physical buttons below the infotainment system for control and settings, and powered windows for easy roll-up and roll-down.
Under the hood, it gets a cc 2.8-liter turbocharged four-cylinder diesel internal combustion engine with a displacement of 2,755 cc, which delivers the power of 204 PS and peak torque of 500 Nm. Comes with a single drivetrain, that is, all-wheel drive, and two transmission options: five-speed manual and five-speed automatic. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in under 12 seconds and reaches a maximum speed of 175 kmph.

As of now, there’s no confirmation about the launch of the next-generation Toyota Hilux. Reports suggest that it may be introduced to the Indian market by late 2026. As the launch is unconfirmed, the price is also uncertain; we expect it to be around ₹29 lakh to ₹37 lakh. If the carmaker plans to launch in India, it may introduce this pickup truck with the same specifications and features with which it is sold across the globe.
