1,001hp, 350km/h, Only 499 Made: The Audi Nuvolari Is Here
The German automaker Audi revealed an all-new limited edition plug-in hybrid electric vehicle, the Audi Nuvolari, on June 5, 2026, by releasing official exterior and interior features. Reportedly, they are going to manufacture only 499, and each one will cost €600,000, which is equivalent to ₹6.64 crore.
The car is named after Italian racing driver Tazio Nuvolari, who was once named as the ‘greatest driver of the past, present, and future’ by Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, the designer of the Porsche 911 sports car. Let’s have a closer look at its exterior and interior.
Exterior & Design
Starting with the exterior. It is based on Audi Concept C, showcased back in 2025, with the titanium paint finish giving the futuristic look. Its entire body is composed of carbon fibre-reinforced polymer for weight reduction and high torsional rigidity.
Upfront, it gets a single-frame trapezoid vertical waterfall-style grille featuring a four-ring Audi emblem; notably, the slats on the grille are nearly horizontal at the bottom and steeper at the top. Other notables on the front end are four horizontal LED daylight running lights, and the main LED headlamps are placed below with a large air intake for cooling.

In profile, it has precise lines and a sweeping roofline, creating class GT proportions; vertical side air intakes behind the door feed air to the ICE (internal combustion engine) mounted at mid and the AFM (axial-flux motor) at the rear. The 21-inch forged alloy wheel enhances road presence and also reduces unsprung mass for sharper handling.
The back gets four-dot horizontal LED taillights that mirror the front-end lighting signature; it adds a digital look at night and makes it recognisable even from the back, and it has an active rear wing with three modes that are closed, low downforce and high downforce, and a higher-mounted single exhaust at the centre of the taillight and an aggressive diffuser.
Interior & Features
Moving inside comes with a seating capacity of 2 people and features Alcantara and leather upholstery. The dashboard before the driving seat is equipped with a three-spoke steering wheel wrapped with grippy alcantara featuring an array of knobs and buttons to switch between the five driving modes that include E-Hybrid, Balanced, Dynamic, Dynamic+, and Track.

Notably, a large paddle shifter is mounted directly behind the steering wheel, and under the same there’s a digital instrument cluster that shows all the driving data, including speed, revs and much more. The centre of the dashboard gets a vertically orientated touchscreen that is slab-like and angled on the centre console, which acts as the control panel of the cabin.
Underpinning & Powertrain
It is built on an Audi Space Frame that is made of aluminium, but the exterior panels are made with carbon fibre-reinforced polymer. Notably, it has an F1-derived brake-by-wire system with carbon-ceramic discs and also features 10-piston front callipers and 4-piston rear callipers to ensure powerful braking.
It gets a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine at the centre of the car, whose power output is 800 hp and peak torque is 730 Nm, and gets three axial-flux motors, two of which are equipped with the front axle and one at the rear between the transmission and engine; each AFM produces the power of 150 hp, and the combined power output is 1,001 hp.
It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.6 seconds and sprint up to 200 km/h in 6.8 seconds, and the maximum speed is 350 km/h. Its drivetrain is four-wheel drive, and the transmission is an eight-speed double-clutch automatic. As a PHEV, it is equipped with a 7.3 kWh LFP battery pack, which runs around 15 km without burning fuel.
The specifications and features for the Audi Nuvolari are yet to be revealed; then the dimensions, interior features and technology, and powertrain and performance details will emerge. The date for the launch is also not confirmed but may happen in 2027’s first half with delivery.
