Audi Confirms TT Successor: Electric Sports Car Set to Arrive by 2028 on PPE Platform

The TT, a compact luxury sports car from Audi, was discontinued back in 2023. Now the German automobile maker has officially confirmed that they will soon return to market with its successor and fill in the space that is left idle after its discontinuity.

Its replacement is going to be based on the Concept C, which was revealed on September 4, 2025, at the Munich Motor Show; its production is all set to start from 2027 at Böllinger Höfe, a high-tech manufacturing facility located in Heilbronn, Germany.

It will use the PPE (Premium Platform Electric) platform, co-developed by Audi and Porsche, which supports fast charging and high power output. There are also two upcoming EVs from Porsche that will be based on the platform, the 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman.

Launch Expectations

The revealing of the concept version took place in September 2025, and it’s confirmed that the Audi will start production in 2027, so many reports are saying that it may be introduced globally by the early 2028 and available for sale in some markets such as Europe and North America by the late 2028.

It’s tough to say anything about its price. However, it’s certain that it will cost a little more than its predecessor. The TT was available with a price of $52,000 to $69,000 in the United States, so it is expected its successor in the line may come to the US with a price around $80,000 to $100,000, depending on the variant.

How would its design be?

Audi’s TT is going to be the same as the Concept C, but there are a few changes to improve aerodynamics. Let’s explore the design of the concept version. Up front, it gets a tall ‘vertical frame’ grille reflecting the brand’s new design identity. It gets slim headlights and four lighting elements, reflecting the brand’s four rings, to give a modern look.

On the sides, it features a low-slung coupe stance and strong shoulder lines that run across the body. It gets a targa-style retractable hardtop that can be opened as a roadster and muscular wheels for better road grip. There’s no traditional window on the back to make its rear profile bold, and the rear also features four light elements with slim LED taillights.

Interior & Technology

The cabin is all set to be based on the ‘Radical Simplicity’ philosophy. It will feature a driver-focused cockpit with a lower seating position like traditional sports cars and a fully digital instrument cluster with a modern user interface that shows all the driving data.

The next-generation infotainment system is certain to act as the control panel of the cabin with the wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay. It will also come with OTA updates for automatic software updates, advanced voice control, and AI-based features for convenience and a premium feel.

Not confirmed, but it may get an augmented reality (AR) head-up display that projects all driving data on the windshield. Multiple-color ambient lighting is likely, like its predecessor, which enhances cabin mood. To make the driving semi-autonomous and stress-free, it may get ADAS.

Battery Pack & Motor Setup

Nothing is revealed about its power strain and performance. But it is likely to be available with a two-motor setup featuring an all-wheel drive configuration and single-motor automatic transmission. Its power output is likely to be above 500 hp, making the sprint of 0-100 km/h (0-60 mph) in 3-4 seconds.

It may get an LPF battery pack around 100 kWh, whose claimed range is expected to be around 800 km (479 miles) on a full charge. Its electrical architecture may be 800-volt, which supports ultra-fast charging around 350 KW that takes around 15 minutes for 10-80% charging.
