The Czech carmaker Skoda has officially revealed a fully electric SUV, the Skoda Epiq, on May 19, 2026, positioned below the Skoda Elroq and Skoda Enyaq. Reportedly, it is the most affordable and smallest EV from the brand, whose production is all set to start in mid-2026. Firstly, the carmaker will introduce it to the European market by the late 2026 with the £24,950 (₹32.33 lakh).

Its India launch confirmation is still pending, but many reports say that they may introduce it to India in early 2027. If launched, it will compete with the Maruti Suzuki eVitara, Mahindra BE 6 and Hyundai Creta Electric in the Indian market. The unveiling of the Skoda Epiq has revealed its specifications and features. Let’s have a closer look at the same.

Dimensionally, it is 4,171 mm longer, 1,798 mm wider and 1,581 mm taller. It has a drag coefficient of 0.275 and even a frunk (front storage trunk) of 25 litres to help the owner in carrying the small items. The wheelbase is 2,601 mm; compared to the Tata Curvv EV and the MG ZS EV, it is 41 mm and 16 mm longer, respectively.

Upfront, it gets a closed-off grille for EV styling. Its bonnet has illuminated lettering of ‘SKODA’. The LED daylight running lights are available in an L shape, and below them the main LED headlight units are available, giving the modern look and better visibility for nighttime driving. The front bumper is chunky and has 8 slats and a silver skid plate, giving it an SUV look.

In profile, it comes with double-toned powered outside rear-view mirrors, a sloping roofline for better aerodynamics, mechanical door handles for practicality, blackout roof rails for carrying boxes and big luggage on the roof, SKODA lettering on the C-pillar, and five-spoke large alloy wheels.

At the rear, it features T-shaped LED taillamps creating a wide stance, SKODA lettering at the centre for branding, a shark-fin antenna, a roof-integrated spoiler above the windscreen, and a chunky bumper, the same as the front end of the sport utility vehicle, making it recognisable even from the back.

Comes with the seating capacity of 5 people in a layout of 2-3, the rear seat in bench style is ideal for seating 3 adults for short distances; long rides may be a little unconventional. Behind the rear seats, a cargo capacity of 475 litres is available and can easily carry up to 3 pieces of big luggage.

Notably, the interior is available with three colour options depending on the variant; they are grey, mint green and brown. At the centre of the dashboard, it gets a 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android’s operating system that supports both wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and gets a 10-speaker Canton sound system.

Other notable features are dual-zone climate control, ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, multiple storage spaces, seven airbags, an advanced driving assistant system suite, a 360-degree camera, V2L for running external electronic devices, and V2V, which helps with sharing the battery charge with another.

Built on the MEB+ platform and set to be offered with two battery packs that are 38.5 kWh LPF and 55 kWh NMC, whose WLTP range is 310 km and 440 km, respectively. Will be available for sale in three variants, Epiq 35, Epiq 40 and Epiq 55; the first two are available with a standard battery and the last one with a larger one. Supports fast DC charging up to 105 kW, which charges from 10 to 80 per cent in 24 minutes.

All variants are equipped with permanent magnet synchronous motors on the front axle, featuring a front-wheel drive drivetrain, and they use the standard single-speed automatic transmission, the same as their rivals. The maximum power output and peak are 116 hp and 267 Nm, 135 hp and 267 Nm, and 211 hp and 290 Nm for the Epiq 35, Epiq 40 and Epiq 55 variants, respectively.
