Honda ZR-V Launches in India on May 22 – 180 hp Hybrid SUV From ₹40 Lakh
The Japanese automobile manufacturer Honda is all set to launch the Honda ZR-V as a completely-built unit on May 22, 2026. Prior to that, the carmaker has released a teaser image that shows an illuminated upfront ‘Honda’ logo’ and L-shaped DRLs. It is already available for sale globally; now they are going to introduce it in India.
The teaser image reflecting the front-end details is the same as the model which is already on sale globally; it means the upcoming Honda ZR-V in India will come with the same design which is available in the international market. Let’s have a closer look at the one available globally for sale.
On the front-end, it gets a large mesh grill, integrated L-shaped LED DRLs and headlights giving a modern look, a sculpted bonnet and a sporty large air intake for cooling of the engine. The sides feature a coupe-like roofline, roof rails that help carry the box on the roof with tightening, 18-inch alloy wheels, body-coloured and powered ORVMs, and mechanical door handles for better practicality.

The rear gets wide horizontal LED taillamps to make the back lighting modern; the spoiler at the back is integrated with the roof. It helps reduce turbulence and keep it stable during highway cruising. Other notable highlights from the rear are the roof-mounted shark-fin antenna, simple tailgate design, dual exhaust and sporty look. The overall rear design is capable of making it recognisable even from the back.
Dimensionally, it is 4,568 mm length, 1,840 mm width and 1,620 mm height. Its wheelbase is 2,657 mm; compared to the Jeep Compass, Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta, it is 47 mm, 47 mm and 21 mm longer, respectively. Its ground clearance is 180 mm, good enough to tackle speed breakers and potholes. Comes with a seating capacity of 5 people in a layout of 2-3 and features a boot space of 390 litres.
Inside, the dashboard is inspired by the Honda Civic; AC vents are in a honeycomb structure; soft-touch door trims and dashboard, ambient lighting, a wireless phone charging pad, and a button-type gear selector are present. Get two screens: one 9-inch at the centre of the dashboard as the infotainment system and another 10.2-inch under the steering wheel as the drive display that shows all the driving-related information.
The infotainment system comes with Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and to enhance the infotainment experience, it gets a 12-speaker Bose audio system. Both its front seats are electrically adjustable and heated, even though the steering wheel is heated to keep the driver warm during winter. Other notable features are a panoramic sunroof, a powered tailgate, and rain-sensing wipers.

Gets Honda Sensing ADAS suite, which features Adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, traffic sign recognition, road departure mitigation, and blind spot monitoring. To ensure the safety of occupants, it gets 10 airbags and also features ABS with EBD, which prevents the wheel locking during sudden braking and stabilises the car by distributing brake power among all wheels.
Built on Honda e:HEV strong-hybrid technology, which gets a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated 4-cylinder Atkinson-cycle engine that is bolted to the eCVT. Its maximum power output is 180 hp and peak torque 240 Nm, which makes it accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in under 8 seconds. Its drivetrain is all-wheel drive. The top speed is 180 km/h, and fuel efficiency is 18.2 km/L.
Pricing is still pending. Reportedly, it will be available with the ex-showroom price of between 40 and 50 lakh rupees. Following the launch, it will compete with the premium five-seater SUVs, which are the Volkswagen Tiguan and Skoda Kodiaq Lounge.
