2026 Skoda Kodiaq Launched in India: 201 bhp & Prices From ₹36.99 Lakh

The Czech automobile manufacturer Skoda has launched the 2026 Skoda Kodiaq in three variants that are Lounge, Sportline and Selection L&K on May 11, 2026.

The first one is a five-seater and is available for sale with the price of ₹36.99 lakh, and the latter two are seven-seaters; between them, the former costs ₹44.99 lakh and the latter is priced at ₹46.99 lakh, ex-showroom.

The 2026 model of the Skoda Kodiaq isn’t a facelift or new generation; it only comes with feature additions. Among the three newly introduced variants, the latter two are upgraded with Level 2 ADAS (advanced driving assistance system), a 360 camera and an illuminated grille.

Now, the car has become smarter with Level 2 ADAS, as it guides the driver in driving safely on the road and makes the driving almost autonomous; a 360 camera is set to help in parking in compact areas and getting a view of blind spots, and an illuminated grille makes the front fascia more modern.

Notably, the level 2 ADAS features adaptive cruise control, adaptive headlights, front collision warning & autonomous braking, lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring, rear traffic alert and an exit warning system; these feature additions have made it more competitive among its rivals, which are the Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster, Jeep Meridian and Volkswagen Tiguan.

Recently, Toyota has also shared its roadmap for India, including the Toyota India 2026–27: 5 New SUVs, which will further intensify this competition.

With the addition of ADAS to the Sportline and Selection L&K variants. In India, the Skoda Kodiaq has become the first car from the brand to offer this smart safety feature.

And the first variant, ‘Lounge’, is introduced to the Indian market by Skoda as an affordable option for users who don’t want to spend more money for ADAS and other new features that the last two have received.

In terms of dimensions, powertrain and design, the car remains the same. It comes with a seating capacity of 5 and 7 people with a layout of 2-3 and 2-3-2, respectively. The front row seats are electrically adjustable with the memory function; they also feature ventilation, massage and heating functions.

The row seats feature reclining and sliding with foldable armrests, and a third-row seat for a seven-seater is only ideal for children and teenagers for a long journey; even adults can sit comfortably, but in case of a long drive, they may feel uncomfortable.

The five-seater has a cargo capacity of 910 litres; folding rear seats expand the boot space up to 1,976 litres. The seven-seater has 281 litres, which can be expanded up to 786 litres by folding second-row seats and up to 1,976 litres by doing so with the third row.

The cabin is equipped with a 12.9-inch floating touchscreen infotainment at the centre of the dashboard, which supports both wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, and there’s also a 10.25-inch virtual cockpit under the steering wheel that shows all driving data.

For comfort and convenience, it gets a double wireless phone charging pad with a cooling function, a powered tailgate, ambient lighting, 3-zone automatic climate control, rear AC controls, rear vents for all rows, and a two-piece panoramic glass roof that is electronically operated and features a powered sunshade.

It is powered by a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that is bolted with the 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic gearbox, whose displacement is 1,984cc. The drivetrain is all-wheel drive; its power output is 201 bhp, and peak torque is 320 Nm. The acceleration timing for 0 to 100 km/h is 8.2 seconds, and the top speed is 210 km/h.

Its ARAI-certified fuel efficiency is 14.86 kmpl, but real-world city driving is 10-11 kmpl, and highway cruising is 12-13 kmpl. The car features a fuel tank of 62 litres, with an average mileage of 12.5 litres; it gives a range of 775 km after one full refuelling.
