Engine & Performance

The Scrambler 650 comes with a liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, DOHC, 4-valve engine whose displacement is 652cc. It features a fuel injection system, chain drive, and assist and slipper clutch, and the engine is paired with a five-speed gearbox, one up and four down.

The power output is 45.62 bhp at 6500 rpm, and peak torque is 55 Nm at 4000 rpm. The bike’s strong low-end torque helps in easy riding in city traffic and less gear shifting. Its engine is tuned for smooth and linear acceleration to ensure comfortable long rides and no jerks.

As it falls in mid-range performance, it is ideal for cruising between 60 km/h and 100 km/h. The acceleration, timing, and top speed are yet to be revealed. Estimated to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6-7 seconds, its top speed may go to 150 km/h. Its mileage is expected to be 26-29 km/l, depending on driving conditions.

Design & Tech

BSA Scrambler 650 Thunder Grey

Its design is inspired by Gold Star era models from the brand, featuring a fuel tank in teardrop shape and a round headlamp. Its high-mounted front fender, upswept exhaust and wide handlebar with brace make it a true scrambler. The front wheel is 19 inches and the rear is 17 inches in size with wire-spoke rims to ensure that it provides better stability on hard roads.

On the front end, it gets LED headlights with a modern touch for better visibility; the rear also gets LED taillights that make the bike recognisable even from the back. It features a semi-digital instrument cluster showing speed, trip info and basic ride data. For safety, it gets double-channel ABS (anti-lock braking system) with disc brakes at both ends.

Dimension & Suspension

BSA Scrambler 650 Yellow

The bike comes with a seat height of 820 mm, giving a comfortable seating position for riders 5’7″ to 5’9”, with better visibility in traffic and off-road control; the wheelbase is 1465 mm. It is medium long but makes the motorcycle stable at high speeds, and a ground clearance of 187 mm is good for Indian road conditions and light off-roading.

Its front suspension is 41 mm telescopic forks that provide a smoother ride and better control; its main work is to absorb bumps and potholes to handle speed breakers and broken roads, and the rear features twin shock absorbers with five-step preload adjustability that keep the rear stable and prevent bouncing by absorbing shocks from bad roads and long rides.
