In September 2026, more than half a dozen cars are anticipated to be launched in different segments. Among them, the dates of 4 models are now officially confirmed. Interestingly, all these four cars will be available for sale in the Indian market in the first two weeks. They are the Kia Sorento HEV, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno Facelift, the BMW 7 Series Facelift, and the BMW i7 Facelift. Let’s have a closer look at each of these upcoming cars.
Kia Sorento
On September 4, 2026, Kia India will launch the Sorento HEV, a three-row sport utility vehicle, which will be positioned above the Seltos. It is coming to India as a hybrid electric vehicle and a diesel-powered ICE car. A teaser from the carmaker has already confirmed the HEV version will have an all-wheel-drive drivetrain; bookings for the model are already taking place from August 3, 2026.
Reports suggest that the HEV will get a 1.6-litre turbo-petrol hybrid engine and be diesel-powered with a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel. The teaser has already confirmed that it is an infotainment system with support for Kia’s Live Generative AI Assistant. It underpins the monocoque platform and is likely to measure 4.8 metres in terms of length with the wheelbase around 2.8 metres.
Maruti Suzuki Baleno Facelift
Just a day after Kia’s Sorento launch, i.e., on September 5, 2026, Maruti Suzuki will introduce the Baleno facelift with many upgrades to the exterior and interior. It will come with a redesigned front grille, a new alloy-wheel design, revised front and rear bumpers, updated window and dashboard trims, and more premium-like upholstery.
There will be no changes in the dimensions; the length, width, height, wheelbase and ground clearance are set to remain 3,995 mm, 1,745 mm, 1,500 mm, 2,520 mm and 170 mm, respectively, with the wheelbase of 318 litres. The 1.2-litre four-cylinder internal combustion engine is set to be continued and pure petrol and 5MT and 5AMT, and a CNG option with only 5MT.
BMW 7 Series Facelift
BMW India has officially confirmed that they are going to launch the BMW 7 Series facelift on September 11, 2026, which will probably be known as the 2027 model. It has an illuminated kidney grille with horizontal slats, slim upper DRLs with lower headlamp units, and a Panoramic Vision display stretching across the dashboard.
In terms of length, width, and height, it measures 5,395 mm, 1,950 mm, and 1,550 mm, respectively, with a wheelbase of 3,215 mm. Two wheel size options are the 20-inch and 22-inch. A total of four variants are set to make their debut, which are the 740 xDrive, 740d xDrive, 750e xDrive, and M760e xDrive with the power outputs of 381 hp, 286 hp, 489 hp, and 571 hp, respectively.
Among them, the first two are mid-hybrid, and the last two are plug-in hybrid electric; the drivetrains for all of them are all-wheel-drive. Features a seating capacity of 5 people in a 2-3 layout with boot space of 500 litres behind the second row. Other features are adaptive 2-axle air suspension, electronically controlled dampers, and adaptive chassis control.
BMW i7 Facelift
Along with the BMW 7 Series facelift with the mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrain, BMW India will also launch the pure-electric version, which is set to be known as the BMW i7 Facelift. In terms of design, dimensions, and features, it is similar to the 7 Series. The pure-electric version is set to be available in three variants, which are 50 xDrive, 60 xDrive, and M70 xDrive.
All three variants of the EV get two electric motors; one is available on each axle, which gets power from a 112.5 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The power output for the first is 455 hp, and the same for the second and third is 536 hp and 680 hp, respectively. Its WLTP range is 685-726 km; it takes 3.5-5 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h, and it can reach a maximum speed of up to 250 km/h.
