The Renault Triber, a compact multi-purpose vehicle with a seating capacity of 7 people, is available for sale in the Indian market from August 28, 2019. Currently, they are selling it in five variants: Authentic MT, Evolution MT, Techno MT, Emotion MT, and Emotion AMT, with the ex-showroom prices of ₹580,875, ₹673,605, ₹744,120, ₹805,350, and ₹852,950, respectively.
These variants are available for sale in the Indian market with the 1.0-liter 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol-powered ICE, which delivers 72 PS and 96 Nm. The report suggests that Renault India, the Indian subsidiary of French automobile manufacturer Renault Group, will soon introduce a turbo-petrol engine option. Let’s have a closer look at the same.

Renault India will launch the Renault Triber with a 1.0-liter three-cylinder turbocharged petrol-powered internal combustion engine, which is also offered with the Renault Kiger and Nissan Magnite. The launch is anticipated by the last week of September 2026. A factory-fitted CNG option will be available for this new internal combustion engine option; they will go on sale simultaneously.
In the Renault Kiger and Nissan Magnite, the turbo-petrol ICE delivers the power of 100 PS and peak torque of 160 Nm with a five-speed manual transmission and 152 Nm with a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission). The same is anticipated for the Renault Triber. The factory-fitted CNG option is most likely to make its debut with the only five-speed manual transmission.
Features and the rest are set to remain the same as NA-petrol ICE.
The Renault Triber is built on the Renault-Nissan CMF-A+ platform with the front-wheel-drive drivetrain. The suspension is a MacPherson strut with a lower transverse link at the front and a semi-independent torsion beam axle with coil springs at the rear. It sits on up to 15-inch alloy wheels with 165/80 tires, with a solid disc at the front and a drum at the rear.
The dimensions in terms of length, width, height, wheelbase, and ground clearance are 3,985 mm, 1,739 mm, 1,643 mm, 2,636 mm, and 182 mm, respectively. Seven seats are available in a 2-3-2 layout. When all seats are used, it has a boot space of 84 liters that can be expanded to 625 liters.
Inside, it gets an 8-inch, i.e., 20.32-cm floating touchscreen infotainment system at the dashboard that supports wireless connectivity via Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. A 17.78 cm TFT digital instrument cluster is present under the steering wheel showing all the driving-related information. Its steering wheel features audio and phone controls.
It gets air-conditioning vents not only in the first row but also in the second and third. A wireless smartphone charging pad is also available for phone charging convenience. Other interior features are an electronically adjustable driver seat with a headrest to enhance seating comfort and an inside rear-view mirror with day/night mode features.
To ensure the safety of occupants, its cabin gets six airbags, including two side, two front, and two curtain. Other features that enhance the safety of occupants are 3-point seat belts on all seats.
Driver seat-belt pretensioner, front seat-belt load limiter, driver and passenger seat-belt reminder, rear seat-belt reminder, and ISOFIX child-seat anchorages.
Total sales till now.
Reports confirm that till January 2026, a total of 200,253 units of the Renault Triber were sold in Indian market since the launch. The sales figure between February and July is 11,870 units. The cumulative sales until July 2026 are 212,123.
The sales figure for August 2026 is yet to be made public. In July 2026, a total of 1,762 units were sold, 109 units and 225 units fewer than in June 2026 and June 2025, respectively. On a month-on-month and year-on-year basis, sales declined by 5.83% and 11.32%, respectively.
