MG Majestor vs Fortuner: ₹5.47L Cheaper at Top, But Should You Buy It?
The Morris Garage launched the MG Majestor, a full-size SUV, on May 27, 2026; its main rival in the Indian market is the Toyota Fortuner. The former is available in a total of three variants, whose ex-showroom price ranges from ₹40.99 to ₹44.99 lakh, and the latter has 11 variants, whose price ranges from ₹34.76 to ₹50.46 lakh. In terms of pricing, the standard variant of Majestor is costlier by ₹10.23 lakh, but the top-end is affordable by ₹5.47 lakh.
Here, we have come up with a side-by-side comparison between the MG Majestor and the Toyota Fortuner. By the end of the article, you will get to know about the key differences between them, so let’s have a closer look at the rivalry of these two full-size SUVs.

Notably, the Majestor has a longer wheelbase, meaning rear-seating passengers get more ample legroom to sit comfortably, even for long drives. In terms of ground clearance, the Fortuner is the one who leads by 5 mm; this difference is quite small. Even with the wheelbase of 220 mm, the MG SUV can easily pass the potholes and speed breakers.

| 0-100 km/h (Approx.) | 11 sec | 10.8 sec |
| Fuel Efficiency (Claimed) | 12–13 km/l | 14 km/l |
The MG Majestor gets a 0.8 litre smaller engine and even has 759 cc less displacement, but the power output is 12 PS more than the Toyota Fortuner. The MG car is offered with single transmission options, but the Toyota car has two; however, the Majestor is whose gearbox is offered with 2 more speeds. In terms of acceleration, the Toyota SUV sprints from 0 to 100 km/h 0.2 seconds quicker than the MG SUV, and even its maximum speed is 10 km/h higher.
Verdict
The MG Majestor is ideal if seeking more power, far more features, huge boot space, better cabin comfort, or a much bigger SUV; but there are also cons: its image in the premium SUV segment is still developing, features lower fuel efficiency, and has a smaller service network than Toyota.
On the other hand, the Toyota is a decent option for users who want proven off-road capability, slightly better performance, better fuel efficiency and excellent resale value. It also has some cons: it has less rear-seat space, no panoramic sunroof, a smaller boot, and the cabin feels dated compared to the MG SUV.
