Kia’s 4 Upcoming Hybrid Cars in India (2026–2028) – Prices From ₹14 Lakh
The South Korean automobile manufacturer Kia Motors is planning to introduce four strong hybrid vehicles to the Indian market between 2026 and 2028, as per the report. The list includes the Kia Sorento Hybrid, Kia Seltos Hybrid, Kia Carnival Hybrid and Kia Sonet Hybrid. Let’s have a closer look at each of these Kia’s upcoming hybrid cars.
Kia Sorento Hybrid

The Sorento Hybrid is expected to be introduced in the Indian market with the ex-showroom price ranging from ₹28 lakh to ₹35 lakh in early 2027. May be available with an all-wheel drive drivetrain with a transmission option of a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Expected to get a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, two electric motors, and a small battery pack.
Length may be 4,810 mm, and wheelbase, the distance between the front and rear wheel, is expected to be 2,815 mm. Set to be introduced to the Indian market with both 6-person and 7-person seating capacity in layouts of 2-2-2 and 2-3-2, respectively. The fuel efficiency is expected to be 14-18 km/L, and the top speed is anticipated to be around 180 km/h.
Kia Seltos Hybrid

The Seltos Hybrid’s India launch is expected in the first half of 2027, with the starting ex-showroom price of ₹18 lakh, and the top-end may cost ex-showroom up to ₹26 lakh. It will get a 1.5-litre petrol-hybrid featuring strong-hybrid technology that includes an electric motor and a small battery, whose maximum power output and peak torque are expected to be 155 PS and 265 Nm, respectively.
It will make its Indian debut only with the electronically controlled continuously variable transmission and FWD drivetrain. May give a mileage of 22-27 kmpl and reach a top speed of 180 kmph. Set to be introduced with a seating capacity of 5 people in a layout of 2-3, behind the rear seat, it will have a large boot space. Its expected length and wheelbase are 4,460 mm and 2,690 mm, respectively.
Kia Carnival Hybrid
The Carnival Hybrid is expected to be introduced to the Indian market in the second half of 2027; it is likely to be available with an ex-showroom price between ₹55 lakh and ₹65 lakh. May come with a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine featuring a single motor on the front axle and a small battery pack, which is likely to generate the peak power and torque of 242 PS and 367 Nm, respectively.
It will come with a front-wheel-drive configuration using a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Its fuel efficiency for city driving and highway cruising is most expected to be between 14 km/l and 18 km/l. It is set to come with a seating capacity of 7 people in a configuration of 2-3-2 and 8 people in a layout of 2-3-3, whose length is expected to be around 5,155 mm with the wheelbase of around 3,090 mm.
Kia Sonet Hybrid
The Sonet Hybrid’s launch in the Indian market is expected to happen in 2028. It may be available with the ex-showroom price ranging from ₹14 lakh to ₹19 lakh. Set to be introduced with FWD configuration and e-CVT gearbox. Likely to be a 1.2-litre and 1.5-litre petrol engine with strong-hybrid technology, whose expected power output is 120-140 PS and peak torque is 200-250 Nm.
Expected to give a mileage of 24 kmpl to 30 km/l, and the top speed is expected to be between 160 kmph and 180 kmph. Its length is likely to be 3,995 mm, and its wheelbase is anticipated to be around 2,550 mm. All set to be introduced with a seating capacity of 5 people in a layout of 2-3. Also features a large boot space that will help in carrying multiple big pieces of luggage.
