Kia Sorento launched in India with the starting ex-showroom price of ₹27.99 lakh, in two different powertrains: strong-hybrid and pure-diesel, with six- and seven-person seating configurations, and a Level 2 ADAS suite.
Kia Indian launched the Kia Sorento on September 4, 2026, as a six-seater and seven-seater with both petrol-powered and diesel-powered internal combustion engines. The petrol one is a strong hybrid, but the diesel one isn’t. The carmaker has built it at the Anantapur facility in Andhra Pradesh, but it hasn’t arrived via the CBU route.
A total of six variants are available for sale for this three-row sport utility vehicle. The price, depending on variant, engine configuration, and seating layout, varies from one another. The variant-wise ex-servicemen prices are inside the tables.

Dimensions and spaces.
The Kia Sorento is 4,815 mm longer with a 2,815 mm wheelbase, 1,700 mm wider, and 2,815 mm taller. These dimensions give it a mid-size sport utility vehicle with strong proportions. The six-seater has 6 seats in a 2-2-2 layout with the capital seat at the center, and the seven-seater has a convenient seating arrangement in 2-3-2.

A family of five or six people looking for a car with premium seating comfort may consider a six-seater variant, and the seven-seater is an ideal choice for the late family that has two children, a husband and wife, and grandparents.
Powertrain and performance.
The strong hybrid has a 1,598 cc 1.6-liter 4-cylinder Smartstream turbocharged Direct Injection (T-GDI) petrol engine with 180 hp (132 kW) power and 265 Nm torque, one electric traction motor that delivers 65 hp and 264 Nm. The combined power output is 230 hp and 380 Nm. The transmission is six-speed automatic, and the drivetrain is FWD for the first four variants and AWD for the last two.
On the other hand, the diesel has a 2,151 cc 2.2-liter four-cylinder CRDi turbo-diesel internal combustion engine mated with the 8-speed DCT automatic that delivers 193 PS and 442 Nm. Similar to the strong hybrid, its first four variants come with an FWD and the last two with an AWD drivetrain. They both are available with four driving modes-Normal, Eco, Sport, and Smart-and three terrain modes-Snow, Sand, and Mud.
The petrol gives a smooth and powerful driving experience, making it a good choice for city driving and highway cruising, and diesel is built for high-torque and relaxed driving for the driver needing a vehicle for long-distance with heavy loads.
Exterior design.
Upfront, it gets a tiger nose grille in honeycomb-style mesh pattern with large and wide lower air intakes, vertically stacked LED headlights bracketed with Y-shaped LED daytime running lights, a faux silver skid plate, and dual LED fog lamps on the bumper. The sides have 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, thin black wheel-arch cladding, and roof rails to add SUV characteristics. Its rear has a roof-mounted spoiler, dual exhaust tips, and a faux silver skid plate on the rear bumper.

Features and technology.
The cabin is offered with two double-tone color options, which are grey-and-black and beige-and-black. The dashboard has a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system; they can be personalized in nine themes inspired by Marvel, Disney, and Pixar characters.

The center console, between the front seats, has a rotary drive selector, a premium knurled finish around the selector, a wireless smartphone charger, and cupholders. Below the infotainment screen, it has touch controls and a touch-enabled climate control panel that also has physical-style scrollers and a switchable control interface.
Features a four-spoke steering wheel with physical control buttons. The infotainment is integrated with the 12-speaker Bose premium sound system. Other features highlighted are a panoramic sunroof, a head-up display, 10 airbags, a dash cam at both the front and rear, a digital inside rearview mirror, and an auto parking assistant.
