2027 Kawasaki KLE500 SE SmartRide

The Japanese motorcycle manufacturer Kawasaki is selling the Kawasaki KLE500 middleweight adventure motorcycle in many international markets, including Europe, Asia, and America; the brand has now officially unveiled a new variant for this motorcycle. The new variant is named SE Smartride.

Notably, earlier this motorcycle was available with only two variants; they were standard and SE. The new one has added the third in the lineup. Reportedly, the Kawasaki KLE500’s SE Smartride variant has received two upgrades, and they help with an enhanced riding experience.

As per Kawasaki, the new top-end variant is now available with the Smartride clutch and tubeless tires. This new variant has been introduced with the Pearl Blizzard White color option, the same that is also offered with SE trim. Regarding its launch, nothing is official. Reports suggest the launch in India will happen in the next few days.

Better riding experience.

Enhancing the riding experience for the Kawasaki KLE500 SE SmartRide variant, Kawasaki has introduced the SmartRide clutch and tubeless tires. The Smartride automatically handles clutch engagement when starting and stopping, reducing left-hand fatigue and ensuring fewer engine stalls, and tubeless tires ensure less roadside hassle and potentially less air loss.

The addition of these two features for their Kawasaki motorcycle has strengthened its positioning against the rivals in the international market. These two features don’t only enhance the riding experience but also add premiumness. The report, which suggests its launch in Indianis very close, doesn’t mention whether the only recently unveiled top-end or also the two existing will be introduced.

Equipped with the same ICE.

The Kawasaki KLE500 adventure motorcycle’s SE Smartride variant gets the same ICE that is available for the Standard and SE trims. It means the recently launched top-end is also equipped with the 451cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled petrol-powered engine that is mated with a six-speed manual transmission.

Showing the Kawasaki KLE500 bike, Kawasaki has officially revealed that this motorcycle’s internal combustion engine delivers 45 hp maximum power at 9,000 rpm and 42.6 Nm peak torque at 6,000 rpm and also gives a fuel efficiency of 4 liters per 100 kilometers, an equivalent of 25 kmpl.

Dimensions have been retained.

Kawasaki itself has confirmed that besides the addition of new features, the Kawasaki KLE500 top end remains the same in rest. It means this motorcycle still measures 2,300 mm longer, 980 mm wider, and 1,510 mm taller. The wheelbase and ground clearance also remain 1,570 mm and 185 mm, respectively.

Even though the seat is 870 mm and the fuel tank is 16 liters, it continued. Even though two new features have been added, the curb weight for this Kawasaki motorcycle stays at 180 kg. The recently unveiled SE Smartride variant can be seen sitting on the 21-inch front with 110/70 R17 and the 17-inch rear with 150/70-17 tires.

Same hardware and features.

The SE Smartride variant underpins a high-tensile steel trellis frame, whose front and rear suspension is a 43 mm KYB inverted cartridge fork with 210 mm travel and Uni-Trak suspension with adjustable spring preload and 196 mm travel, respectively. These suspension setups are the same as the standard and SE trims and ensure a comfortable riding experience on a variety of terrains.

The front wheel features a 300 mm single disc, and the rear has a 230 mm unit; they both have double piston calipers. Also, the selectable double-channel anti-locking braking system is available, which allows disabling of ABS for off-roading. Features a TFT display between the handlebars, which also supports smartphone connectivity via Kawasaki RIDEOLOGY THE APP MOTORCYCLE.
