Hyundai Tucson Hybrid

Hyundai has officially released the key details of the 2027 Hyundai Tucson PHEV by unveiling it for the North American market. The company has disclosed it as the new-generation model; soon it will go on sale across the globe. The previous generation was available for sale in the Indian market till November 2025, so we are expecting that the next-generation model will also be launched in India.

The South Korean automobile company has introduced the all-new model with three different powertrains for the North American market. Regarding India, things are not yet confirmed as to which powertrains will be introduced there. Reports suggest that pure-petrol and strong-hybrid will come to India first, after which Hyundai will consider a plug-in hybrid version.

Two motors and an AWD drivetrain.

All the details of the 2027 Hyundai Tucson PHEV, which is also likely to be launched in India, have now been revealed. Notably, it gets a 1.6-liter four-cylinder T-GDI turbocharged petrol-powered internal combustion engine under the hood. Apart from that, it also features two electric motors; they are P1 and P3. The first one is mated with the engine on the front axle.

The second one is available on the rear axle that is mated with the six-speed automatic transmission. The power output of the front and rear motors is 13 kW and 79 kW, respectively; the combined power output is 292 PS, and the torque is 380 Nm. It also has a 17.1 kWh lithium-ion battery pack with a voltage of 351 volts that contributes to an 81 km range on EV mode without the ICE usages.

The company says to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h, it takes only 7.9 seconds. Other officially unveiled details are the all-wheel-drive drivetrain and the 7.2 kWh on-road AC charger, but the charging time is still undisclosed. Reportedly, with the maximum charging output, it would take around 2-3 hours. The carmaker has already made it clear that it won’t support DC charging.

Large size than earlier, and more futuristic design.

The next-generation Hyundai Tucson is slightly bigger than the discounted version. Its length, width, and height are 4,700 mm, 1,905 mm, and 1,685 mm, respectively. Compared to the four-genration version, this all-new model is 60 mm longer, 40 mm wider, and 20 mm taller. The wheelbase, which was earlier 2,755 mm, has been increased by 30 mm; now it measures 2,785 mm.

The ground clearance for the standard model is still 180 mm, and the XRT Pro variant has a 30 mm distance between the lower part of the vehicle and the ground, enhancing off-roading capabilities. Its front and rear overhang is 915 mm and 1,000 mm, respectively. This car sits on up to 20-inch alloy wheels with the 235/50 R20 tires; the other wheel options are the 17-inch, 18-inch, and 19-inch.

Large touchscreen and smart features confirmed.

The Hyundai also unveiled the interior features. 12.9-inch or 17.9-inch touchscreen infotainment systems are introduced depending on the market, meaning some markets will get the standard-size screen and few will get the larger one. Behind the steering wheel, it has an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster that shows all crucial driving information.
