In November 2026, Honda will launch the XR300 L, a dual-sport motorcycle, and the XR300 Rally, an adventure touring motorcycle. The former comes with a minimal off-road design, but the latter comes with a rally-inspired fairing with a tall windscreen. Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, the Indian subsidiary of Honda Motor, showcased these two bikes on July 24, 2026, during an event.
Their ex-showroom prices are still pending; the manufacturer will announce them at the launch event. The XR300 L may cost ₹2.00 lakh to ₹2.10 lakh, and the XR300 Rally is anticipated to be available for sale for ₹2.20 lakh to ₹2.30 lakh. Following the launch, the former competes with the Hero XPulse 210 and KTM 250 Adventure, and the latter with the Suzuki V-Strom SX and TVS Apache RTX 300.
Engine & Performance
Both the XR300 Rally and XR300 L from HMSI are powered by a 293.5 cc, single-cylinder, air-/oil-cooled internal combustion engine, which features a PGM-FI (Programmed Fuel Injection) system. The engine is mated with a six-speed manual transmission, in one-down and five-ups, which is paired with a wet multi-plate clutch and chain final drive.
The manufacturer hasn’t revealed maximum power output and peak torque, but reports suggest that it will generate 24.5 hp at 7,500 rpm and 25.9 Nm at 5,500 rpm, respectively, the same as the Honda CB300F, which also comes with the 293.52 cc single-cylinder engine. Even its maximum speed and 0 to 60 km/h are still pending.
We are expecting that they will take under 4 seconds to sprint from 0 to 60 kmph and may reach the top speed of 130 kmph. Like other specifications, they are also yet to reveal the fuel efficiency for both motorcycles. Some reports suggest that the XR300 L and XR300 Rally may give the mileage of 35-40 km/l and 33-38 km/l, respectively.
Suspension & Braking
Features long-travel telescopic front forks at the front for tackling trail riding, gravel roads, and rough terrain, and a gas-charged Pro-Link monoshock at the rear; it may come with preload adjustment to ensure a comfortable riding experience. Both front and rear wheels get hydraulic disc brakes to ensure powerful braking; it also has double-channel ABS to prevent wheel locking in case of sudden braking.
Notably, the double-channel anti-locking braking system is switchable, which lets you disable rear-wheel ABS for off-road use. It also features Honda Selectable Torque Control, which improves traction on slippery surfaces.
Features & Technology
They are equipped with spoke wheels, but the manufacturer hasn’t confirmed their size. A report from Autocar India suggests that the front one measures 21 inches in diameter and the rear is 18 inches. Both motorcycles wear dual-purpose tyres, so they can do off-roading as well as on-roading.
Between the handlebars, the XR300 Rally and XR300 L feature a TFT instrument cluster and an LCD instrument cluster, respectively; they show all the driving-related information, such as the speedometer, tachometer, gear position indicator, fuel level gauge, odometer, trip meter, and others.
They both have a high-mounted front fender, a braced handlebar, a slim long seat, and a high-mounted exhaust. The XR300 Rally has a tall windscreen for better wind protection and handguards. Its digital instrument supports Honda RoadSync smartphone connectivity.
Dimensions & Range
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has yet to disclose the length, width, height, and wheelbase of both upcoming motorcycles. They are set to come with a seating height of 830 mm, giving an ideal seating position for individuals with a height between 5 feet 8 inches and 6 feet.
They both have a ground clearance of 244 mm, ensuring they can easily pass rough roads during off-roading. Even there, the fuel tank capacity is 7.8 litres. With an average mileage of 33 km/l, they are expected to give a range of 260 kilometres.
