The Hero Xtreme 125R is a sporty commuter motorcycle, which is available for sale in the Indian market from January 23, 2024. Hero Motorcorp will soon launch a 2026-year model of this motorcycle, upgrading features to strengthen its positioning in the highly competitive 125cc segment.
Reportedly, the launch for the 2026 Hero Xtreme 125R will take place on October 2, 2026; however, the official website from the brand is still pending. Let’s have a closer look at this upcoming rival of the TVS Raider 125, Honda CB125 Hornet, and Bajaj Pulsar 125.
What will be new in the 2026 Hero Xtreme 125R?
Compared to the existing Hero Xtreme 125R, the new one may get four feature upgrades enhancing the riding, as per a report from Bike Advice. Among these four upgrades, the first one is the TFT instrument cluster; replacing the old 4.2-inch LCD display, it will have a TFT unit of the same that will show all the riding data, such as speed, engine RPM, fuel level and trip distance.
Notably, the TFT instrument cluster will support wireless connectivity via Bluetooth for call and SMS alerts. The second in the new addition feature list is cruise control, which enables throttle-use-free riding at a preset speed. This feature enhances the rising experience for the individuals who needed to drive daily for a long time on the straight road.
The third feature this motorcycle will get is a tyre pressure monitoring system, a safety which continuously monitors the tyre pressure and alerts the rider via the instrument cluster where it goes too low or too high. And the fourth fear, which is the last one in the list of new features that this motorcycle is going to get, is ride-by-wire throttle, which ensures the most precise throttle response.
Rest to remain the same for the 2026 Hero Xtreme 125R.
The 2026-year model measures 2,009 mm, 793 mm, and 1,051 mm, respectively, with the wheelbase of 1,319 mm, seat height of 794 mm, and ground clearance of 180 mm. The wheelbase is one of the best in the 125cc segment, and even its ground clearance is good enough to pass the road potholes. The fuel tank will also remain 10 litres, but a little increase in kerb weight is expected.
The setup will also be retained; it will continue with telescopic forks and monoshock. 17-inch alloy wheels on both ends are certain with tubeless front tyres and a 120-section wider rear tyre. Both wheels are set to have disc brakes as standard with the double-channel anti-locking braking system to prevent wheel locking on uneven braking conditions.
The full-LED lighting, ride modes, and split-seat setup are set to be retained to enhance practicality for riders. There won’t be any changes in the powertrain. The 2026-year model of Hero Xtreme 125R will retain the 125cc single-cylinder petrol-powered internal combustion engine with 5-speed manual transmission that delivers 11.4 bhp at 8,250 rpm and 10.5 Nm at 6,500 rpm.
The top speed and acceleration timing for 0 to 60 kmph also remain the same. Notably, the ARAI-certified mileage is expected to be slightly better than the existing model. Reports suggest that the rear-world range for city driving and highway cruising may remain the same as the existing, which is 55 kmph and 65 kmph, respectively.
Will there be any price hike for 2026 Hero Xtreme 125R?
There are details about the ex-showroom price of the 2026 Hero Xtreme 125R from Hero Motocorp. As this upcoming motorcycle is expected to be introduced to the Indian market with four new features, a slight increase in the price is anticipated. The price may be increased by ₹10,000 to ₹12,000.
Since the outing model of the Hero Xtreme 125R is available for sale in the Indian market with the ex-showroom price between ₹91,500 and ₹108,300, the upcoming model may cost starting from ₹1.10 lakh for the base variant and go up to ₹1.20 lakh for the top-end trim.
