Geely EX2 Refreshed Model Launching May 28 – 460 km CLTC Range From 70,000 Yuan
The Chinese automobile manufacturer Geely is all set to launch the refreshed Geely EX2, domestically known as Geely Xingyuan, on May 28, 2026, at the Beijing National Speed Skating Oval, for the domestic market. It is an all-electric five-door compact hatchback, which is the best-selling car in China.
Back in 2024, the carmaker launched it under the Geome sub-brand, but it is sold under the banner of Galaxy. The refreshed Geely EX2 is all set to make its debut in China with a few cosmetic changes in the exterior and interior and better range with larger battery packs.
They haven’t disclosed its price; it is expected to be a little costlier than the existing model, which costs between 68,800 and 87,800 yuan, and it is expected that the new one will retail at the starting price of 70,000 yuan, which converts to ₹9.9 lakh and $10,300, and may go up to 90,000 yuan (₹12.72 lakh or $13,250).

Set to be introduced with two LFP battery packs that are 35 kWh and 42 kWh, which range after the full charge is 360 kilometres and 460 kilometres, respectively, on the China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle. Will support fast charging, which takes only 21 minutes from 30 to 80 per cent charging.
Notably, its front suspension is McPherson strut and the rear is multi-link independent. Braking is managed by a disc; to ensure safe braking, it features ABS with EBD, and reports say the upcoming one is set to be equipped with ESC.
Will get a permanent magnet synchronous motor on the rear axle featuring a rear-wheel drive drivetrain and set to use a single-speed automatic transmission. As the battery pack has been upgraded, it is expected that the upcoming model will have more power output; these details are still pending.
The acceleration timing for 0 to 100 km/h is expected to be under 10 seconds for a large battery pack, but the standard may take around 12 seconds, and top speed for both variants is more likely to be 140 km/h for the base variant and up to 150 km/h for the top-end.

Dimensionally, it is 4135 mm longer, 1,570 mm wider and 1,805 mm taller. The wheelbase and ground clearance measure 2650 mm and 50 mm, respectively. In terms of size, its main competitors in the Chinese market are Leapmotor T03, Wuling Bingo and BYD Seagull.
Reportedly, the refreshed version has a round front fascia with the smooth surface; large oval-shaped LED headlamps with integrated daylight running lights, adding a modern touch; a new Galaxy logo for branding; and lower air intakes for cooling at the front end.
On the sides, it sits on the large and modern alloy wheels, gets flush-type handles for entering and exiting doors for better aerodynamics, and features blackout ORVMs (outside rear view mirrors) with the window trims.
At the back, it gets oval-shaped LED taillamps mirroring the upfront lighting signature, a minimalist tailgate design with the Galaxy lettering for an uncluttered rear view, and roof-integrated spoilers for reduced turbulence.
As there’s no change in the size, it is set to be introduced with a 5-person seating capacity with a layout of 2-3. It also has a cargo capacity of 375 litres, which is expandable up to 1320. The interior is most expected to be the same as the outgoing model with a few tweaks on the dashboard.
The interior is expected to be equipped with an 8.8-inch driver display and a 14.6-inch centrally mounted infotainment system. The cabin may also get a wireless phone charging pad at the front rows and USB ports in the rear too. It will also feature storage compartments for better practicality.
