The BMW M340i, four-door executive performance sedan, is available for sale in the Indian market in a single variant, xDrive, with a price of ₹77.10 lakh; the same is set to be replaced by the BMW M350 in 2027 after the international market launch in 2026. The German automobile manufacturer has officially released the core specifications for the successor of the M340i after testing the M350 at the Miramas and in France. Let’s have a closer look at it.
What did the BMW reveal for the M350?
The BMW M350 gets a 3.0-litre six-cylinder turbocharged petrol-powered ICE with the 48V mild-hybrid system, which uses a small electric motor and a 48V lithium-ion battery, and delivers 443 hp power and 580 Nm torque. For clarity, its power output and peak torque are 69 hp more and 80 Nm more, respectively, than the outgoing model.
It gets an eight-speed Steptronic automatic gearbox and features a drivetrain of xDrive all-wheel drive. The upcoming car is set to be equipped with the Drift Mode that directs 100% internal combustion engine power to rear wheels; this feature is set to make its debut in the 3 Series M performance model with the launch of the BMW M350 sedan.
The carmaker says that it can reach the maximum speed of 250 kmph and takes only 4.1 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph, 0.3 seconds faster than the current model. Details of its suspension are made public by BMW; they are made up of steel, the front setup includes a double-joint spring strut axle, and the rear set to have a five-link axle.
The Adaptive and Adaptive M suspensions, for the comfortable and stiffer riding experience, respectively, are set to be available as optional, meaning buyers can get either of them by paying an additional amount, along with the 245/35 front and 275/30 rear sports tyres for the 20-inch alloy wheels.
What else do we know about the upcoming BMW M350?
Apart from the above-mentioned officially confirmed details, this upcoming sedan will have Heart of Joy, BMW’s new central domain control unit, and Axle Decoupling, which allows physical disconnect of the drive power from the front front axle. Compared to the outgoing model, it is a longer sedan with more wheels to enhance seating practicality for rear-seating passengers.
Its cabin is set to have Neue Klasse Interior Styling; reports suggest that its cabin will have similar features to the upcoming BMW i3 all-electric sedan, such as a full-width panoramic display on the base windscreen, an augmented reality head-up display, a large central touchscreen infotainment with an AI-based voice assistant, and car connectivity with over-the-air software updates.

BMW India is selling passenger electric vehicles and ICE cars. A total of four sedans and grand coupés are on sale: BMW 7 Series & i7, BMW 5 Series LWB & i5 LWB, BMW 3 Series Gran Limousine, and BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé; five SUVs and SAVs: BMW iX, BMW X6 M60i & X7, BMW X5, BMW X3 & iX3, and BMW X1 LWB & iX1 LWB; and two M Performance and Sports Cars: BMW M2 CS, M4, M440i Convertible & M5, and BMW Z4.
The cumulative sales of BMW India for the first six months of 2026 are 9,075 vehicles, including 4,568 units of the first quarter and 4,507 units in the second. Notably, in both quarters, the Indian subsidiary of the German luxury carmaker recorded growth of 17% on a year-on-year basis. The sale figures for the third quarter will be out in October 2026 officially by BMW India via social media handles.
