Bajaj Avenger 220 Street: India Launch Soon at ₹1.43 Lakh Expected Price

The Indian automobile manufacturer Bajaj Auto has officially discontinued the Avenger 160 Street, and they also have removed it from their website. The Avenger 220 Street is all set to take place, and its launch is expected in the very near future. Reportedly, its launch may happen in the next two weeks with the ex-showroom price of ₹1.43 lakh in New Delhi. 

By silently removing the Avenger 160 Street, they have added the Avenger 220 Street on its website under the line-up of Avengers with the “coming soon” tagline. Shortly after its launch the booking will start with a small amount; riders who want the motorcycle can expect to get delivery within a month after the booking. As the booking is anticipated to start in May 2026, the delivery may happen in June 2026.

The company has revealed all specifications and features of the motorcycle; it is set to be available with two colour options that are Ebony Black and Cocktail Wine Red. In terms of looks, the latter colour option is looking more attractive because it has higher visual contrast, and the first one is ideal for the rider who wants a stealthy and understated presence.

Engine, Performance & Mileage 

Bajaj Avenger 220 Street Tank

The Avenger 220 Street is all set to be introduced in the Indian market with a single-cylinder 4-stroke SOHC 2-valve oil-cooled engine, whose displacement is 220 cc, and it features a fuel injection system. It is paired with 5-speed manual gearbox with one down and four ups, whose power output is 19 hp at 8,500 rpm and peak torque 17.55 Nm at 7,000 rpm. 

It features a multi-plate wet clutch and chain drive system; to accelerate from 0 to 60 km/h, it takes a time of 5.2 seconds and reaches a maximum speed of 130 km/h. Its ARAI-certified range is 45 kmpl but is expected to be between 35 and 38 kmpl for city driving, 40-42 kmpl for highway cruising, and 38-40 kmpl for the mixed driving that includes the first two.

The Avenger 220 Street is built on a tubular diamond frame; its front suspension is telescopic with a double anti-friction bush which easily soaks up road undulations, and the rear is a five-step adjustable twin shock absorber that stiffens the back of the motorcycle when there’s any pillion. 

The front wheel braking is managed by the 280 mm disc, which helps with strong braking with better heat absorption, and the rear is managed by the 130 mm drum, which is standard for braking in the segment for the rear wheel.

Both front and rear wheels of the motorcycle are alloy with tubeless tyres; the front wheel is 17 inches in diameter with a 90/90 tyre, and the rear wheel is 15 inches with a 130/90 tyre. 

Dimensions 

The dimensions of the Avenger 220 Street in length, width and height are 2210 mm, 806 mm and 1070 mm, respectively. Its seat height is 737 mm, which gives a comfortable riding position for the rider with a height of 5 feet (152 cm) and above. Its ground clearance is 169 mm, good for Indian road conditions, and it helps to easily pass potholes and speed breakers. 

The wheelbase, the distance between the front and rear wheel, is 1490 mm, which enhances its stability at high speed. Its kerb weight is 160 kg, standard in the segment, and can be easily handled even in city traffic. it feature a 13-litre fuel tank, the ARAI-certified range is 585 km.

Features 

The Avenger 220 Street has a fully digital console, which provides a speedometer, odometer, two trip meters, a digital fuel gauge, a clock, a service reminder and a low battery indicator; and features single-channel ABS (anti-locking braking system), which ensures that the front wheel doesn’t get locked during sudden braking.
