The electric two-wheeler manufacturer Ather Energy is all set to unveil the production model of the Concept EL01, an electric scooter, on August 29, 2026, at the 2026 Ather Community Day, Bengaluru. The upcoming e-scooter is the first production model based on Ather’s new EL platform, for which the name announcement is yet to take place.
As of now, there’s no word for the ex-showroom price. The manufacturer is all set to position it below the Ather Rizta, an existing model in the company’s electric scooter lineup, so we are expecting that the upcoming model will cost around ₹1.10 lakh. The market launch is set to take place with a debut in India and delivery within four weeks.
The EL platform is a new modular electric scooter platform, which they unveiled last year. Exactly after one year, how are they all set to introduce the production model? Notably, they have developed it using over 2.6 million kilometers of real-world riding data to make the scooter’s underpinnings more convenient options than other options.
The upcoming e-scooter from Ather Energy isn’t the only model that will underpin the EL platform. The manufacturer has already confirmed after the launch, they will introduce more, including family scooters, maxi-scooters, and performance scooters. The first one to be based on this platform is all set to compete with Ola S1 X+, TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, Hero Vida VX2, and Ampere Nexus.

The manufacturer has already patented the upcoming electric scooter; the image of it shows hints that its design is highly anticipated to be the same as the Concept EL01. Notably, this to-be-launched all-electric two-wheeler from Ather Energy has already been spotted testing on public roads. The spy shots reveal that it has a horizontal LED DRL on the front apron and LED headlights at the cowl.
Expected to get telescopic forks on the front and a single-sided monoshock at the center, and set to be equipped with alloy wheels, the front wheel is 14-inch, and the rear is 12-inch. The front wheel is set to get a solid disc and a drum at the rear. Reportedly, it may get an Advanced Electronic Braking System, which will manage the braking intelligently.
Set to feature a single piece with good length to ensure even two healthy people sit comfortably, for the pillion foldable footpegs are certain for leg support, and even a grab rail behind the seat is certain to hold hands. Between the handlebars, it is set to feature a touchscreen instrument cluster running on AtherStack 7.0 software, which won’t only show driving data but also support Bluetooth connectivity for calls and SMS alerts.

Under the seat, it may feature a cargo capacity of around 30 liters that can easily hold two helmets or one office or college bag. The frunk (front trunk storage) is certain to help in carrying small items conventionally. The footboard is set to be quite large so it is comfortable to place the foot; this space can even be used to carry up to two 15-liter water bottles at a time.
Reportedly, it will get a swingarm-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor with single-speed automatic transmission, which may generate the power of 3-4 kW. Most are anticipated to accelerate from 0 to 40 kmph in under 5 seconds and may reach a maximum speed of 70 kmph to 80 kmph. Set to feature a belt drive.
May get a lithium-ion battery pack from the Ather Rizta, which is 2.9 kWh or 3.7 kWh. If they introduce the model with these two options, then with the standard battery pack, the upcoming electric scooter may run up to 125 km, but with the larger one, the range is 160 km under IDC (Indian Driving Cycle) conditions.
