Hyundai started the road testing for the upcoming next-generation Hyundai Creta a few months earlier to ensure all aspects before introducing it to the global market. This upcoming car is internally codenamed as SX3 and has been spotted testing on public roads multiple times. Recently it was again spotted testing on public roads in Spain, revealing the fresh details regarding its exterior.
What do the spied images reveal?
The spy shots of the new-generation Hyundai Creta that come from Spain show the vehicle with the camo warp shedding the traditional body camo, which gives a clearer view of the exterior, revealing more detailed information about the design. The all-new Hyundai Creta is set to have the Art of Steel design language, meaning this upcoming car will have more angular and sharper lines.
The most recent spy images of the next-generation Hyundai Creta show the vehicle has an upright and boxy front and updated side profile with a slanted roofline to give the distinct look, flush door handles to improve efficiency, circular wheel arches creating a wide stance and sporty dual-tone machined alloy wheels for enhanced road presence.
Even its rear has received design changes. At the back, it has a roof spoiler to enhance stability on the road, a raked rear windscreen giving a sporty look, and a flat boot lid and chunky bumper further add sportiness. Still, many details are behind the wrap, reports suggest, for H-style integrated headlights and individual taillamps.
Any update on its dimensions?
The new-generation Hyundai Creta is set to have a totally new size compared to the outgoing model. Reports suggest that there will be little increase in dimensions to enhance seating space for the second row. The one already on sale has a length of 4.3 metres with a wheelbase of 2.6 metres; for the all-new model, the length may be 4.5 metres with a 2.7 metre wheelbase.
The seating capacity will remain 5 in the traditional layout (2-3), but there will be more legroom, headroom, and shoulder room for enhanced seating comfort for all. Since the dimensional changes are certain, there will also be a little increase in the cargo capacity behind the second row. The ground clearance may remain the same as the current-generation Indian-spec model.
Which features and technology addition is certain?
Registration of the features and technology is officially confirmed by Hyundai. Reports suggest that the cabin will have Pleos Connect infotainment and a cockpit that includes a slim digital instrument cluster behind the steering wheel and a large touchscreen infotainment system. It will also be equipped with the Software Defined Vehicle architecture with over-the-air software updates.
It can be set to be equipped with smart features such as a powered ventilated seat to enhance comfort for occupants, and AI-based voice assistants and connected car technology with over-the-air software are also certain. The advanced driving assistant system suite with enhanced features to make the driving more convenient is also confirmed.
Will the powertrain remain the same?
The next-generation Hyundai Creta is most likely to continue with 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol, and 1.5-litre turbo-diesel internal combustion engines whose power outputs are 115 PS, 160 PS, and 116 PS, respectively. Apart from the continuous ICE powertrain, there will also be an inclusion of an HEV (hybrid electric vehicle) with a front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive drivetrain.
The all-electric powertrain that is available for sale in India may also continue but with a larger battery pack and a more powerful electric motor. The electrical architecture for the current model is 400 volts, and for the new-generation model, it may be upgraded to 800 volts to enhance the DC charging speed, solving one of the problems of range anxiety.
What about the launch date and ex-showroom price?
Hyundai, the South Korean automobile manufacturer, is yet to confirm the date for the new-generation Hyundai Creta launch. The carmaker is expected to unveil the model by late 2026, and its market launch may happen in early 2027 for the ICE version, and HEV and EV may make it debut later. For the Indian market, the ex-showroom prices are set to vary depending on the powertrain.
