After revealing the exterior and interior design for the 2027 Hyundai Tucson in August 2026, the South Korean automobile manufacturer Hyundai Motor has officially released all the specifications and features for the same. It is a fifth-generation model, whose launch for the South Korean market will take place in October 2026, and in India, it will go on sale in 2027, replacing the fourth-generation model that was already discontinued back in November 2025.

The Hyundai Tucson nameplate will soon come into the Indian market; the South Korean carmaker has already confirmed that it is going to be slightly larger in size than the fourth-generation model, and two powertrain options, including pure petrol and strong hybrid, are confirmed with better performance. It is still based on the Art of Steel design and equipped with many smart features.

Dimensions and space.
The 2027-year model, i.e., the new-generation model, measures 4,700 mm, 1,905 mm, and 1,685 mm in terms of length, width, and height, respectively, whose wheelbase is 2,785 mm. The length, width, and height are 60 mm, 40 mm, and 20 mm more than the outgoing model, with a 30 mm wheelbase.
It is still a five-seater car with a seating layout of 2-3; the cargo space is now 540 liters, an increase of 22-23 liters. The second-row headroom is enhanced by 29 mm; now it is 1,031 mm. Even though there’s a 10-degree increase in the second-row door opening, from 73 degrees, it has now become 83 degrees.
There’s also an increase of 14 mm in knee room, enhancing the seating comfort in the second row, meaning the long-distance travel with the fifth-generation Hyundai Tucson has become more comfortable, and the second-row folding features are still available that expand the boot space.
Powertrain and performance.
The pure petrol and strong hybrid versions have the same 1.6-liter four-cylinder turbocharged petrol-powered internal combustion engine; the former one is mated with an eight-speed automatic transmission, and the latter has a strong hybrid system that includes an electric motor, a hybrid transmission, and a small LFP battery pack.
The power output of the pure petrol and strong hybrid is 193 PS and 245 PS, respectively. The peak torque for the former is 270 Nm, and the latter is 379 Nm. Depending on the market, the drivetrain of front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive will be available; for India, they are anticipated.
The one going to be introduced in South Korea will have 17-inch alloy wheels, giving the 12.2 km/l and 17.4 km/l fuel efficiency for pure-petrol and strong hybrid, respectively, with an FWD drivetrain. Compared to the discontinued model, the pure petrol has 13 hp more, and the strong hybrid has 10 hp more power.
Things regarding the diesel-powered internal combustion engine options are still unconfirmed; there’s even no update regarding the plug-in hybrid electric powertrain. It is yet to be seen if Hyundai Motor, a South Korean carmaker, will also introduce this car with these two other powertrains.
Features and technology.
Hyundai’s new Pleos Connect infotainment platform is officially confirmed, meaning behind the steering wheel, there will be a slim digital instrument cluster, and the center of the dashboard will have either a 12.9-inch or 17-inch touchscreen infotainment system, depending on the market and variant.
The Gleo AI generative AI voice assistant is also confirmed to be offered, which supports natural language voice commands. The main touchscreen will also have the Pleos App Market for downloading supported applications, and it is certain that it will have connected car technology with the over-the-air software updates.
A new feature, Memory Reverse Assist, is officially confirmed to help the car to remember how it was parked; with the path memory and automatic steering wheel, it can automatically reverse the vehicle. Ground View technology has also been introduced for this car, which gives a clear view of the front portion of the vehicle.
Other features include pedal misoperation safety. Assist that prevents accidental accelerator application, Door Unlock Power Redundancy, which provides a backup power source for door unlocking, and Parking and ADAS (advanced driving assistant system) technology.
This car is also equipped with the 100W USB ports across the cabin, a wireless smartphone charging pad on the center console, dual-zone automatic climate control to set different temperatures for co-passenger and driver, and powered front seats for enhanced seating comfort.
